With one easy stroke, remove fibrous stems from leafy greens like kale, Chard and collard greens. Two razor sharp blades cut on either side of the stem to remove without damaging the Leaves. The zipper also quickly prepares strips of greens for healthy salads or stir-fry.

It mashes and looks shiny, what more can you ask for
This is a nice potato masher which gets used quite frequently, usually not potatoes- but it works great for that! It has a nice weight to it- not so light you feel like your going to break it, but not so heavy you'd pick another instrument over it, and is well constructed. i.e. no gaping holes for dirty water to reside in until you realize how gross it is. I got so sick of replacing things every year because they had random funk from going through the dishwasher and not drying out well or just plain falling apart. So when Thanksgiving was coming up and I couldn't find my masher, I instantly went here to check for a better replacement. The price was good, the quality in relation to price is excellent. The zig zag bottom means it is not difficult to get clean like the waffle style. I use it quite frequently, mostly for par-mashing cauliflower gratin and to give soups a little "body" without dragging out an immersion blender or transferring to a blender. I've mashed inside my stainless steel pans and enamel baking dishes and not marred either finish. Not much more to say, it works well for it's purpose, is easy to clean, and thus far still looks brand new over a year after purchasing... Highly recommended.

Ain't What it Used to Be.
I first bought this masher in 2012 it has performed very well over the years. I purchased it again for my girlfriend and the new one is a far cry from the original in terms of ergonomics. The 2012 version is much more comfortable to use because the barrel is way larger. The new one starts to feel uncomfortable after a few minutes of use.

When life hands you apples, make applesauce
Also a perfect apple smasher. Buy a bag of your favorite variety. Cut off the skin and cut the apple to cubic inch sized pieces. Discard the core, unless you like to eat that part. Boil the pieces until they become soft. Drain the water and smash the pieces using this product. Add sugar and/or cinnamon if you like.

Good quality with one design flaw
It is nice to have the longer handle, and my husband is happy to have the more traditional design than some out there. I found that the handle is somewhat uncomfortable, for the hanging loop makes it difficult to push down hard on the handle. If my husband doesn't complain and he is willing to peel and mash nearly ten pounds of ppotatoes, I suppose I should not be griping.

That a product lives up to it’s name.
I love the product, it made my work so very easy when I was cutting up my greens.

Well made, sturdy and will last
I'm a big fan of Kuhn Rikon products because they are well made and last. I needed to replace a potato masher that was coated in some non-stick or other coating, because it started to peel off and rust. This masher works like any standard potato masher, and seems like it will stand up to the test of time. I like the heavy handle and feel of it -- nothing flimsy here!

Very good product !
We mash our fresh strawberries and add a little sugar for homemade strawberry shortcake. After struggling for years to mash them, we decided we needed an old fashioned potato masher. I read all the comments about all the potato mashers on Amazon.com and the Kuhn Rikon Potato Masher was the only one that consistently had 5 stars. It did cost a little more, but it is stainless steel, dishwasher safe, and is easy to hold and use (and it really looks nice, too). It has a loop on the end if you want to hang it up that we have no need for, but some people might. We are very pleased with this product and recommend it.

Nothing like homemade mashed potatoes!!
Have mashed potatoes- for the past 46 years. My first and only masher finally went to the grave. I wanted a good replacement and nothing I saw in the stores filled the bill. Have been given some Kuhn knives before and loved them. When I saw the masher and Kuhn name on Amazon; I couldn't wait to get it home!! Had mashed potatoes right away and was so pleased. I have to admit it does an even better job than its 46 year old predecessor.

Not the Usual Quality from Kuhn Rikon
The photo I downloaded shows my older version ( red handle ) Kuhn Rikon potato masher and the newer stainless steel handle 2305 model that I received today. The red handled model works very well but unfortunately the newer 2305 model is a little too short for my preference and the stainless steel wire bends very easily were it enters the handle. When the masher arrived the handle was bent and it took very little of my strength to straighten the handle. A masher must be solid in it's construction for obvious reasons. The head size and shape are identical on both these models and the gauge of the stainless steel wire used in both appears to be the same but the stainless steel wire used in newer 2305 model does not have the same strength as the older red handle version ?The newer 2305 model is only 11 inches overall to the top of the hanging hook but the length to the top of the 3/4 inch diameter SS handle is only 10.25 inches. My personal preference in a masher is 12 inches in length to the top of the handle thus eliminating any chance of scalding or burning to my hand when using a masher.Up until this date Kuhn Rikon products have had a solid track record of excellence when it comes to kitchen tools, but this product is a definite step backwards and not their usual quality noting how easily the stainless steel wire bends at the handle area.I do not recommend this product to anyone but I do recommend the older Kuhn Rikon red handle model if that model is still available. If you prefer a shorter length in mashers I also recommend the Zylis masher with the similar shape of head. It's approximately the same length as the new 2305 masher and it's super solid in it's construction and has a very comfortable and large diameter handle and comes in different colours.

Good item, not quite what we were looking for
Bought this for our home bar, to try getting evenly sized strips of citrus peel for drink garnishes. The side hole/blade is a little small for this application, and my husband and I both struggle with making it cut evenly. It's not a matter of handedness (he's a righty, I'm a lefty), but perhaps we just haven't practiced enough? The main zester part works exactly as it should with no issues, and we liked that there is no plastic on this tool. We may end up buying something different, and use this one in our kitchen instead.

looks and feels sturdy
bit small but looks and feels heavy. the steel handle joints are neat. the whole thing is heavy enough comparable to the size. hope this thing lasts! the last one i had was kitchen aid and non-metal, which lasted me for 4 months and snapped.

No regrets!
Looks good and works great. So far everything I’ve purchased from Kuhn Rikon has been a solid investment and shows no signs of wear despite frequent use and dishwashing. Also, fits easier into my utensils drawer as it’s a bit less bulky than many mashers.
