Rage Against the Machine

Obviously the album is 5 Star, no doubt about that at all. The XX remix is also 5 Star in my opinion.I bought the deluxe box with the LP and it arrived scratched. In total, I had to buy 3 of these, and ALL of the LPs arrived scratched. Don't get me wrong, they are playable and sound good, but the scratches are audible and look as though they are a result of the LPs being carelessly shoved into the paper sleeve. I find it a little galling to buy a premium LP release and it not to have a quality liner, but there we go. All three copies I had in my hands all had differing levels of spine damage, again it looked as though it was carelessness when assembling the package, (rather than in transit because the whole thing fits together very snugly).This gripe out of the way though, the packaging is great and the contents are all top notch! The DVDs are superb as is the remix of the album.I have to dock a star though because I purchased this as not only a fan, but as a bit of a collector and there is spine damage and scratches right out of the blocks.

Firstly, the packaging of the album feels very premium which makes It look more than £10. Inside you get two CDs and a DVD (1st Cd is the main album, 2nd Cd is the demo version and the DVD is music videos and live performances). It also contains a thank you card from the band and a booklet giving a basic insight about the album with included lyrics. 1st CD Remastered to perfection. 2nd CD demo is a lot more raw and unmastered which is a nice addition, DVD Is great the music videos are in much higher quality than on YouTube and the live videos are awesome and almost as good as the studio versions. One thing to note is the DVD is NTSC for some reason but it plays fine on my computer, I haven't tested it on my PS4. All in all Solid album.

The music is great!, and it's nice to have a bonus DVD with videos to watch. However the packaging leaves a huge amount to be desired. The set comes in a stiff cardboard package which is about 15% larger than a standard CD size - hence won't fit/sit with the rest of one's CD collection. Also, the discs inside are stuffed in so tightly, they scratch when you remove them. Prescratched CDs!, wonderful!

Very impressed with this album. I thought it was brilliant. Made up I have finally gave it a listen. This 20th Anniversary is greatly packaged with great extra tracks, along with a DVD.

It's Rage Against the Machine's seminal album plus extras - what do I need to say? Buy it!
