I am a sedimentologist and stratigrapher. Fancy ways to say I'm a geologist. This notebook is perfect for field work. The graphed pages make sed logs simple and easy to measure. The paper is durable and water resistant. For environments like light rain or snow, you should not have much of a problem with water damage. This is not a Rite in Rain notebook, heavy rain, sleet, and wind will damage this notebook.But it is half the price of Rite in Rain notebooks. It is also lighter in the hand, and the bright orange makes it easy to find. I've lost a green RR notebook when I dropped it off a steep outcrop. Looked for hours and couldn't find the thing. Lost about two publications worth of notes.I also use these notebooks for daily notes and jounals. They make excellent general log books. I have used rollerballs, fountain pens, and gel ink with this paper. The gel ink writes the smoothest, and there is little bleed through. The fountain pens are okay with the least bleedthrough. Rollerball pens write smoothly but have the most bleedthrough.Overall, if you are looking for a cheap, durable notebook for field work, or daily logging, I would reccomend the Elan brand.

Each page is a 60x80 grid so there's plenty of room for larger patterns and there are thicker lines around each 10x10 square so counting the stitches is easy. It's sturdy enough to survive rough handling in a backpack and the paper doesn't disintegrate in damp or dirty conditions, which I care about because I'm in the military and bring it into the field with me (to work out new patterns) where I can't keep things as clean or dry as I'd like. There are enough pages with enough room on each that I can't imagine I'll ever run out of space even though I knit all the time and always have new patterns to add.Only gripe is the color, as bright orange or yellow seem to be the only options. Because it goes to the field with me, I was hoping for something more subdued, like black or green or brown, but I'm not bothered enough by the color to take away any stars.

Awesome for notes, journal and sketches.

Don't care for the material the cover is made out of. It feels somewhat tacky to the touch. But it's a good book.

Good product and value. I use it as a diary or daily log.

Nice field data book. I use my for recording chrony readings while shooting.

This is the best notebook all around for small handwriting. I write 3-4 lines per college ruled line, and these books have the perfect line width to keep my writing neat and straight. My only complaint is that I wish they came in office-friendly colors, too.

I was given a rlevel-note style ruled book, but was looking for a grid style as the picture shows. The quality otherwise was satisfactory, but it was not the product I was looking for.
