Not For 8200 Series!
Reading through the questions and answers, there still seems to be some confusion, and/or unanswered questions about this tip.I can assure everyone, that this, 'WILL NOT' fit the 8200 series soldering guns!At least not without 'A LOT' of time consuming modifications.First, the wire gauge of the tip, (where it goes into the soldering gun), is much too big, (or thick), to even go into the holes. If you sit with it in your hands, (for like a half hour), with a little file, you can file it down to where it will fit into the holes. But then, you will run into the next problem. The nuts are a different size. The nuts are 'way' too big to thread into the gun.Use the old nuts??? Well yes, you can do that after you bend the end of the tips straight. HOWEVER, the wire gauge of the tip is too large to go through the hole in the nuts! And the only way to resolve that is to get that little file back out, and spend another half hour '+', filing down about 3/4 of an inch, of the end of the wire, so you can get the nuts on, then put that little bend back in the tips, so you can get it installed back unto the gun.How do I know all this? Yea... Because I went through it all. These are what I ordered as I, 'had never' in my long life, seen various different sizes of Weller tips with nuts on them. Every one I had ever seen, 'with the nuts', were for the 8200 series gun.So what do you do when your current tip is in 'two pieces', (broken at the ends)... You've already used a pair of pliers to bend them back to where they're making contact (for as long as that works)... It's a 'Friday evening', and these tips are what just got delivered from amazon???You sit with the tip, and a little file in your hands, and make it work!So 'now' I know, that Weller made 'at least' two different size tips with nuts in them. So again, 'this tip' will not fit the 8200 series soldering guns. And finding the exact, 'right' part number browsing around the internet, isn't easy. I have yet to find it, even going to Weller's web site.So you're going to have to depend on the descriptions that's written along with the 'few' found tips, that are shown with nuts on them. And any regular amazon shopper, already knows that written descriptions, aren't always very accurate.I'll be calling Weller on Monday...

Works on my old Craftsman
I finally took a chance and bought this replacement soldering iron tip. It's the perfect replacement tip for my dad's old Craftsman (model 5366, see photo) induction soldering gun. Years of silver soldering using acid based flux finally took its toll on the old tip (see photo). The Weller 7250N works fine. I don't have to buy a new soldering gun, plus I'm glad to still be able to use the soldering gun that my dad gave me many years ago!
