Unit comes with what you need to safely turn the water heater temperature up. Will make your water heater wear out a year or two earlier due to higher tank temperatures. However, even if you have room for a second water heater, using this will still be way cheaper than adding a second water heater to handle hot water needs.

This thing does exactly what it advertises. More hot water our of your existing water heater. I have a 50 gallon gas water heater. I also have a large jacuzzi tub. The tub rarely got used because it was near impossible to get it filled with hot enough water unless the water heater was set for 145F+ which just isn't safe, especailly with kids in the house. So with this tank buddy, you can crank the temp up and keep the output at a safe 120F. Now I have no problem filling the large tub with hot water. I was debating replacing the 50 gallon with a 75 gallon water heater or going to an on demand. No need now.Installation was pretty easy, but you need to be prepared depending on the configuration of your plumbing. Some hot water heaters have male nipples on the top, others have female ports. I needed to get some nipples for mine since it had female ports. I purchased the 18" sharkbite hoses, but due to the configuration of my lines I need to make them taller so the hoses wouldn't be bent to far over. I purchased a few sharkbite valves to prevent having to solder on wet pipes and made an extension with elbows to bring everything to the correct height. I sweated the two elbows. I could have done it all with sharkbites, but it would have cost a bit more. Make sure you do a good job wrapping the threaded fittings with teflon tape or buy the paste. I had to turn the water back off and redo one connection that was leaking.

This is a great product to have on your water heater. It allows the higher temperature to be set on the heater allowing for more hot water supply. Also the increase of water temperature kills off the diseases that may grow in your tank. Before I had this valve I would burn often burn my hands, now this issue has been solved. The other great part of this valve is I installed it myself and it works great with no adjustment right out of the box.

This mixer has helped with getting hot water a little quicker. Just make sure to use plumbers dope and tape when installing.

I am not a pro plumber but have a decent amount of plumbing experience, mostly in the rigging of stuff to make it work arena :) I found this thing to be pretty easy to install, all things considered.Due to the location of my water heater, I put 90 degree elbows on both inlet and outlet to make it easier to add all of this additional hardware. I was able to get this installed with zero trips to the hardware store, which is a rarity for me. Some reviewers complained of missing gaskets but mine had all parts needed included. You will need a rubber gasket for each connection except the connections directly to your water heater inlet and outlet. For those, teflon tape should be used. Once I got it all installed, I tested and found the water temp was 120 degrees on the money without me making any adjustments. I set my water heater thermostats to 150 degrees upper and 145 degrees lower to maximize my hot water. We are a family of 10 with one 50 gallon water heater. We can all take showers at night now without having to wait for the hot water to build back up.

Purchased NEW at full price, but as i have read in past reviews of other customers acquiring this item.Seems to be a continuous blatant act of previous opened packages/returns/or discounted used returned clearance items sloppily rewrap with missing items.CashAcme did not want to iether bother with maybe sending the missing protuct accessorie(s) so as the unit can be installed & operated. Like for my situation was allen wrench & wrench key for adjustment, an the valve information steele tag which has specs. Associated for the mixing valves unit.

Simple to install. Two people in a row can now get a shower without the second person noticing a temperature drop. Much cheaper than buying an electric tankless

Revised review: Installed it as directed and seems to work well. Finally able to understand how the valve system works and I am now able to control my water heater temperature with amazing precision. Highly recommended to anyone looking to upgrade or replace a mixing valve, does same if not better job for an amazing price. Also a solution for any concerns with Legionella or anyone having issues with scalding.

We have electric hot water tank that always felt like it was running out on a 60G tank. Adding this to the unit was very easy (aside from needing an extra flat washer as others have stated) and we have literally never run out of hot water since.

The media could not be loaded.  Make sure you have a bucket for water when disconnecting the pipes and you’ve shut your water off to the house or valves to and from your hot water tank. I drained our HWT a bit as there was no valve on the hot side. Opened a couple taps upstairs to get the water out of the line. Make sure you have teflon tape for the fittings to prevent leaks. Took about 30 minutes to install. Works great.The allen key that came with it is a size smaller than the valve.

Decent for its use, had a hard time getting it to adjust but managed. Note the Guage is very helpful.
