You had me at DAda!
This was such a joy to read! I loved Richard in The Contract, even when he wasn't all that loveable. Watching his transformation due to the love of his Katy, is my idea of a great romance novel. Melanie didn't keep him from further development, however. Watching him become Dada to his Gracie just floored me, and in a very good way! The best of ways! I couldn't keep the smile off my face while reading this. Every moment from him rushing to the hospital, the $400 valet tip, the "what's the name" confusion, to the big needle moment had me in stitches! Then I was in serious "awww" mode watching him become Dada! I love that this book focused on this. It showed us just how far he has come. Although, I'm happy about the adult time too. LOL. Richard is a classic book boyfriend, in my opinion. What girl doesn't dream of transforming a bad boy? Katy continued her role as one of the best book heroines by recognizing what he needed and giving it to him without compromising her status as a strong women. Although, like most women, she may have moments of self doubt, she doesn't let it consume her. Together they are perfect! As was this book!

Oh yeah. I love this book.... Amazing !!! I hope the author doesn't mind me using a highlight from her book...💖💖💖 I hope you enjoy it too...
“Good thing I love you so much I don’t mind being knocked up again.” I dropped a kiss to her head. “Good thing, indeed. Think it will be a boy this time?” “We’ll find out soon enough.” I eased us into the shallow end, and held her close. “Yep. And if not, we can keep trying.” “Is that a fact?” “I’m willing to give it my best shot. Show Suzanne how much of an overachiever I really am.” She sighed in contentment. “This from the man who didn’t want children.” “I want everything with you.” I squeezed her, suddenly feeling serious. I spread my hand over her stomach. “Thank you, my Katy.” “I love you, Richard.” “I love you, sweetheart.” I smiled. “I love you, and I love our life.” I knew how lucky I was. How different my life had become, how I had changed since I fell in love with her. She had changed me for the better. She filled my life with great moments. The ones Penny told me to hold on to. She covered my hand with hers, looking up at me. “Me, too.” I bent down and kissed her. The monitor crackled and Gracie’s babble filled the air. “Dadadadadada.” I fist pumped the air. “Told you!” She laughed. “I guess you did. You’re being paged.” I hauled myself out of the pool, grabbed a towel, and headed toward the house and my new, favorite sound. Dada. Yeah. Another great moment. Thanks to my family, life was full of them

He's baaaaack!!!! <3
One of my favorite characters comes back to let us know that he's still a bit crazy, but this time around he's crazy about his wife and his new baby on the way.I love when authors give us insights on the lives of the characters we adore and what happens after their first adventure is over. Richard is a daddy to be, and although he's not the ogre anymore, he's still a bit of a control freak but definitely turns very soft when he experiences the miracle that is fatherhood. It really is adorable to see such a powerful man dotting over his baby and his wife.Melanie did a wonderful job bringing a lovable Richard to the surface, a swoony man, really. Her writing as usual is top notch and her storytelling is the kind that keeps the reader wanting more after the story is over. This is a short story that is not only entertaining but the money is going to a good cause. I would recommend that you read The Contract before you read The Baby Clause so you can understand the characters and their story a bit more.

Richard Has Never Been Sexier
After meeting and falling in love with Richard and Katy in The Contract I couldn't wait to read The Baby Clause... and what a sweet, enchanting story it is.Watching Richard become a father is stunning and really pulls at your heartstrings. He's light years different than the man you first met in The Contract and it just warms you like no other. I swooned all over again how he cared and loved his daughter just as he does his wife. The Baby Clause is fun, sweet, endearing continuation of The Contract. The love and passion that flow between Richard and Katy radiate off the pages captivates the readers from start to finish. If you've loved the The Contract, I highly recommend you pick up The Baby Clause. You will adore the love the dynamic between this couple as their lives are enriched with the addition of a child.

5 stars!!
You need to read The Contract before starting this novella. The Contract is one of my favorite books ever and I highly recommend it! I have been counting down the days until this novella was released. I started it as soon as I woke up, because I love Richard and Katy so much and I wanted more! I don’t think I’ll ever get enough of them.Richard has changed so much from the moment he really got to know Katy, but he can still be a little rude sometimes. He’s talented and passionate about his work, but his family comes first now. He drops whatever he’s doing if his family needs him. Richard is an amazing dad and husband! He loves Katy so much, just as much as Katy loves him. Katy is sweet, loving, caring and loyal. She knows Richard through and through. It was sometimes funny how good she knows him. Katy is a wonderful mother and wife! Richard and Katy are a solid, beautiful and perfect couple.

Hot Daddy !
This is the second book in the Contract series by Melanie Moreland and it’s actually a novella. Richard Van Ryan and Katy are very happily married and getting ready to welcome their first baby into the world. Richard is in the middle a business lunch with a client when he gets the call that Katy is in labor and already at the hospital. He frantically leaves the restaurant without a word to anyone and rushes to the hospital. To say Richard was freaking out would be an understatement but it was adorable. When he first meets his beautiful daughter, Grace Anne Van Ryan he falls in love for the second time in his life and knows he would do anything for his wife and daughter. This book was so sweet and Richard is a total hands-on Daddy and I loved him especially when he did a presentation for a client with Grace strapped to his chest because Katy was sick.

So cute....
....“My wife—I got a call—she’s having the baby today!” “And the name?” I stared at her, my brow furrowed. “We don’t know the name. The baby hasn’t been born yet..... “Your wife’s name, sir.” I sucked in a deep breath. Well, that made more sense. “Katharine—but I call her Katy. She likes that better.”...😂😂You definitely need to read The Contract before this so that you get the full effect!!Loved it and thoroughly recommend 😊

Disgusted by the size.
The story was good but not long enough. I was sadly disappointed by the size of this book. I bought this book to compleat 'The Contract' series, on seeing the size of this second book I compared the price per page of the two books (something I have never done before). The first book 'The Contract' was £9.71 and had 288 pages @ 0.0337 pence per page, The second book 'The Baby Clause' was £5.39 and had 36 pages @ 0.1497pence per page which works out a lot more expensive per page. I was going to return the book but due to unforseen circumstances I was housebound for a month so had to keep it. I think due to the size of the second book it could have been put in the first book as a short story at the end to close the story. I have decided to never buy a Melanie Moreland book again because I feel as if I have been the victim of a con to extort money from her readers. Yours a very disappointed reader.

A fabulous wee read
I grew to love Richard in The Contract, even though he started out as a real unlikable arse!Seeing how life with Katy softened him and how she became his world was great. Now in The Baby Clause we got to see yet another side to the man who never thought he'd find love never mind a wife and family! His concern about not being a good parent was sad but Mr VanRyan should have learned by now that sometimes he isn't always right and he should always listen to his wife!Sweet, fun and with some real heart warming scenes, TBC is a great addition to The Contract series and a must read for those who enjoyed Richard and Katy's story from the start.Well written, with feeling, warmth and loads of cute daddy and baby bonding, this is a fabulous wee read from one of my favourite go-to authors, Melanie Moreland

Too short
The only time I’ve never looked to see how many pages a book has, so disappointed when settling down to read ,next minute it ended, I actually thought I’d jumped to the end by mistake! So wished I’d checked reviews before and then I would have seen it only had 44 pages, if it had been free fair enough but I would never pay for such a short book that so easily could have just been added onto the original book which I really enjoyed, hence why i didn’t check into book details before!

Can't believe I paid for it!
I loved the first book in this series, and I also really liked this 'book'. Unfortunately, these chapters should have been added onto the first book and not sold as a separate book because it isn't a book just a brief chapter of the continued story. So angry I was conned into paying for such a short read that I am not willing to pay for the final instalment of this series and I am definitely put off by reading anymore by this author as a result.
