Wonderful idea. Phone stays put on holder, but suction to the window is another story. Not much help when your phone falls to the floor and under the seat while driving. While I would never try to retrieve it while driving, the thought of my phone laying in even the smallest amount of sand, snow or salt on the floor is enough to distract a driver, not to mention having your phone stuck under your shoes/boots or between the seat. In my vehicle the vents are too close to my navigation screen so trying to attach it using them wouldn't work either. Lucky my phone is now paired to my cars computer and I don't even need to have the phone out of my purse anymore to answer calls. This product has been donated to goodwill.

Item arrived on time and extremely-well packaged. The phone holder works as advertised. It is a suction mount that is more than adequate to secure your phone to the dash. The dash on my car was a bit of concern due to the surface texture. I was concerned that the suction mount might deface the dash. Accordingly, I also purchased a dash "mat" from an Amazon vendor that is a perfect match to the camera mount. They fit like hand and glove, and I'm not at all concerned about the mount or the mat moving around. I have an after-market back cover on my Samsung S4 that completely replaces the original cover that came with the phone. The thin piece of metal that is provided with the mount easily fits between the phone battery and the cover when the cover is replaced. The magnet in the head of the mount is more than enough to secure the phone to the mount, yet it is easy to remove the phone without being Hercules. The The vendor takes pains to answer any question/concerns very quickly via email. I highly recommend the product and the vendor.

This is my second magnetic car cell holder brand that I bought from Amazon. The other one costs more, and was #1 bestseller of its kind. After a few weeks of use, I decided I like this one better. The major advantage for me with this one is, how the base can be used on uneven surface AND it has pivoting head so you could easily change where the phone is facing without removing the base. They really work!! Following installation instruction, I sticked it for 30 minutes (actually the whole night) before start putting my cell on it. So far both the magnet and the base stick really strong. But for the major advantages I described above, that the other brand didn't have, I will definitely recommend this one over the other ones, or buy a same one if I ever have the need to in the future.Just for a note, I was a regular buyer, was not offered any discounted product to write this review, just an honest opinion of how I really like this product & the seller service.

EDIT: Reduced to One Star with a new review, I'll leave the old review below. On my third day of owning this product and being unable to get it to stick, the device has now exploded into 4 pieces. I was trying to get the suction cup to stick to my dash when the suction cup broke off, and the release switch on top broke off, leaving the magnet, the base, the switch, and a spring in four irreparable pieces. I will be returning this device as defective. May work better with a smaller, lighter phone attached to the windshield instead of the dash, but that was not what I wanted.I'm having a hard time getting this to stay attached to my dashboard, even after making sure it was clear of dust. This is probably at least in part due to my phone case being a battery pack as well, so it's definitely got more weight than your average phone, but I've also come out to the car to find the suction cup is no longer attached. The magnet works well, the phone has never detached, but without the stand staying attached to my dash this doesn't really matter. I would attach it to my windshield, but then the phone doesn't stay upright and instead points down at the floor.I will probably end up returning this product.

I was concerned that the magnet wouldn't be strong enough to hold the phone securely, but had no need to worry. This works exactly as advertised. It's been in the car for about a week now and there are no problems. The metal plate fits in between my phone and phone case without adding any noticeable weight to the phone or changing it's appearance. The magnet grabs the phone as soon as it's close enough and holds it tight. I've used 2 other phone mounts from other companies and the suction cup/sticky pad on this one is by far and away the best of the 3. It really grabs the dash board. Great product!Update: Just bought another one for my classic convertible. Because Lola, the Hawaiian Hula Girl, already has dibs on the top of the dash, I mounted this one sideways on the inside of the dash. It holds great!

I have the Galaxy 5S with an Otter Box on it The magnet provided cannot hold this phone to the base. It just isnt strong enough.....I am looking for another holder...... It suctions to the dash fine...just cant hold this phone. Its heavier than it can hold. After this Review The seller nicely emailed me with some solutions as to how I could improve the function of this device ...... Thanks! I stuck this thing on my dashboard and locked it in the place then I put my phone with the magnet in the back on the magnet of the piece. I guess with the weight it just immediately I just immediately fell off so when I tried to reapply at it just fell off and rendered the suction on the back completely useless. The only good thing about it was it came safe and sound the packaging was great and the magnetic piece was pretty OK but it didn't last long. I don't think I'll be getting another model like this with any sticky stuff on the back because it's useless.
