Wisdom Motorcycle Backrest Sissy Bar and Luggage Rack with LOCK for Harley Davidson Touring Models 2009 and Up

Product arrived three days early and is of excellent quality. I can easily look past the large flywheels that are tripping up some, and honestly the assembly is so self-intuitive that instructions would have been a waste of paper. It looks sharp, attaches and detached easily, and at half the price of genuine bar-and-shield stamped Harley-Davidson equipment, I am more than satisfied.

It went together easily enough. It required some tweeking to get it to fit the bike right. After talking with a few other guys, I found out most of them need tweeking, even the ones from Harley. It's not a bad looking back rest, though I don't think much of those huge knobs on either side of it. I'm not sure why you'd want to, but you can take the backrest off and just leave the luggage rack. It's solid on my mounting system, does the job.

The sissy bar with backrest and luggage rack were easy to install for a skilled mechanic. I did use Loktite on the bolts and recommend it. The backrest is larger enough and comfortable for my rider.

So I based my purchase on the 3 star review above that called it like it is, and he was right. The pieces are tubing or cast, nicer then I had thought they would be, some pitting but the chrome covers it up well. My actual gripe is with the giant ugly hand screws that hold it together, first whoever thought this big chrome wheel looking thing was a good idea has horrible taste. However cosmetically ugly it is, the function was off. First the threaded rod couldn't be any more crooked, as a machinist I don't actually understand how it was put so off center that when I chucked it in a lathe it ran out more then my indicator could show, not the end of the world just the epitome of Chinese manufacturing and in hind sight I couldn't make this piece and chrome it for the price so again I'm happy, but I'm calling it like it is. The real issue is the ugly giant hand screws hit on the tubing before it's all assembled, so you cannot tighten down the plates to the bar, there's a giant spring that should have some kind of washer keeping it straight but it instead rides up the radius on the inside of the screw and causes it to cocktail farther. This may be a simple qc issue that I got and nobody else that I cannot say, however I did have to chamfer the back side of these with a .18x45 for clearance and add some larger diameter washers to trap the spring in place.

This was just what I was looking for. Very affordable and with a couple of minor adjustments, it fit my 2015 HD Electra Glide Ultra just fine. Looks great too.

The product is nice and fits well, directions sure would have helped. It took much longer to install figuring it out without directions.
