Very nice for all round wrist protection (of all kinds) - just a tad pricey... Careful - one size may not fit all...
Nice product - just over priced. Otherwise could deserve a 5****. Curiously enough, the guards are almost best used for wrist support in working with dumbbells or movements like dead lifts and shoulder presses. I will update later after they have a fair trial when I use them for kettle-bell squats and other lifting movements. I have another pair for under $10 that give about 80% comfort of this pair. If you just use some of the inexpensive wrist wraps over these you will get a super cushion for using kettle-bells for sure. Depends on how creative you want to be to save money or get more excellent protection. They are an excellent product - well sewn - should hold up for a good while. They are tight to get on and off - but this means they stay in place while under pressure.

If you are serious about kettle bells you need these.
Excellent protection for your wrists if you are working with Kettlebells. My wife and I have started to do a lot of work with kettle bells. The snatches, cleans and other lifts were creating welts on my wife's wrists. These guards work very well and help to keep the seat off your hands as you are doing complicated lifts. Sweat is a great way to make the bell slippery, which is never good. I'm glad that I bought them and would do so again.

beneficial training aid
When I began training for my first G.S. competition (long cycle), I purchased a set of kettleguards while I fine-tuned my technique. The thin nature of these wrist-protectors keeps them from interfering with the flow of the sport. They allow the kettlebell to rest against the arm, in almost the same position as if they were not there. This makes transitioning to wrap-free lifting more effortless once the fundamental techniques are strong. The thin plastic inserts spread the weight/impact of the kettlebell out slightly; allowing feedback on the progress of my technique, without bruising my forearms. If I were severely over-pulling the kettlebell, or flipping it over my wrist, these wraps would not provide enough protection to prevent severe discomfort or injury. These are ideally suited for use with the girevoy-style of cleans or snatches. The swetshirt-type material holds the body-heat against the forearms and soaks up a lot of swet. I remove the thin plastic inserts before running them through the washing-machine with the rest of the laundry. Without the inserts, they are probably safe to machine-dry, but I just hang them up and let them air-dry.After a few weeks of use, I began leaving the inserts out and just using the fabric as a light cushion: with the eventual goal of competing without the assistance of wrist-guards.I don't know what the length of the "standard" size is, but the "compact" style measure 10 cm to conform with IUKL regulations. The International Kettlebell Fitness Federation (IKFF) and International Kettlebell Marathon Federation (IKMF [1-hour events]) allow wrist-wraps up to 12 cm. Other clubs/federations might prohibit all wrist-guards: check with your competition host for the rules in advance.

What a Joke......
I should have made my own.. I just ordered "kettleshields" from [...] check them out if you haven't heard of them... I don't know about you but I have no desire to lift 8KG kettlebells. Im pretty new to kettlebells but I still like my 24,32,40kg kettlebells and these do nothing but take up space on my arm, I wasted my money....

Just what you need
Well, I guess I like the kettleguards, this is the third pair I've bought. That's in four years, so don't think they're flimsy. They aren't at all. Very well made, and very sturdy. I have very bony wrists, particularly the bone on the outside, and the bells were very painful when they rested on them. Especially the heavier ones. This fixed the problem immediately. They may not be terribly cool, but I couldn't care less. If your wrists hurt wear a guard, and these are the best I've found."Very" is the word of the day today.

Highly recommended
I was interested in beginning kettlebell exercises and saw that these wrist guards were recommended. I already have trouble with one of my wrists so I figured this would be a good purchase. I've been doing kettlebells for nearly three months now, always wearing these guards, and my wrists have done great. No pain or strain at all! These provide great protection.

Proper form = no guard needed!
If your form is correct when using a kettlebell, it doesn't smash into your wrist and merely rests on it. Take the time to perform the exercises right and you won't need the 'protection' this provides. This is an opportunistic product designed to make a quick buck off of you while encouraging sloppy form. In the end, it's harmful and takes your money. Might as well buy a pack of smokes and some PBR instead.
