MIYU Furniture 100 lb Stainless Steel Umbrella Base

Pros: Stand offers a simplistic, modern, and very attractive design. It is also very functional. At 100 lbs, the weakest link on a windy day is not going to be the stand. I've had mine up in some 30-35 mph gusts and no problems whatsoever. There are wheels underneath one side so you can roll it around on the ground without having to pickup the thing. The only con is the shipping packaging. Mine arrived OK, but a 100 lbs steel brick should probably put in a wooden crate instead of a cardboard box with a tiny sliver of packing foam. However, the added shipping costs for a crate may not be justified. Mine arrived with a beat-up box half falling out, but it emerged with no scratches, dings, or dents so I can't complain.

Solid. Strong. Heavy. And yes, like many of the other reviews, it was very cheaply packed and did arrive dented but the cost of returning it is so prohibitive it just isn't worth it. C'mon people... read the reviews and improve the packing. The junk styrofoam you use is so thin and pathetic, do you really think that is going to sustain and protect a 100 lb. piece of concrete-filled metal?

The product came without screws to fasten the holder to the weight. I have been trying to contact the manufacturer with no success. Perhaps the manufacturer will see this.

The Stand is sturdy. Seller even mailed me a replacement Stem as it was damaged in shipping due to weight. Great stylish stand.

Love this! You can bet none of your neighbors, or friends, will have one like this. It is truly unique. We live in Las Vegas and the desert sun does occasionally reflect off it's shiny stainless steel base. But it holds our large umbrella with 1 1/2" pole with the reducer neck inserted in the receiver of the holder. The two side screws hold the umbrella pole keeping it from revolving in the wind. With the handle it is very easy to raise and (using small rollers in it's base) tilt and move it easily to clean under. My only complaint was in the handling during shipping. The box showed damage but not enough to send it back at delivery. When opened we then discovered the edges (2 of them) were dented. After considering the hassle of returning packing and shipping (box is held together with packing straps that have to be cut off to open) we decided to live with the dents and keep it. Only noticed when we point it out. Other than that we are extremely pleased with this product and when we replace others this will be our first choice!
