After 5 days it went from 2.5hrs to 1hr gaming on titles MK x and serious sam 3... Cyberpunk and MK 11 and Doom External must be plugged in, the batt will die before they load. Factory batt ran everything for 1.5 to 2 hrs at 6 years old. Not an easy battery to take back out to return. The Battery was the exact size but 1 star because the laptop does not plug and play. ***UPDATE, They refunded me, I give 5 stars ONLY because they asked me to after refunding me without me asking for one... Hope it works for you.

Update #2: It's been 6 months and it died on me suddenly. I don't think I'll buy any more of these.Update on my review: It's been 14 months (2 months outside of warranty) and it is charging only at 25% capacity and going down. It started happening during the last couple of weeks, as if it knew that it was outside of the warranty period. I'll buy another one but it's a hassle having to open up the machine once again as it's buried deep inside the laptop. Downgraded from 5 to 3 stars.ORIGINAL POST:As with most other laptops, the replacement battery is a bit of effort to install in my Alienware 17R3. I had to keep track of 4 different size and types of screws and be careful with the 4 ribbon cables I had to gently remove and reinstall. Thank goodness that a technical service manual is available to users for this machine. It provide sufficient drawings and instructions for a flawless battery replacement.Realizing that it has been less then 24 hours with the new battery, I'm impressed with the following:* The battery lasts 3.5 hours under normal use with the screen constantly on. It never lasted that long with the original factory battery which steadily declined to under 2 hours before it randomly shutdown on me. The laptop on reboot would often declare that the battery was unrecognizable.* It takes about 1.25 hours to fully charge -- as fast as the original factory battery.As far as I'm concerned, this is the battery Dell should have installed in my laptop. We'll see what happens as time goes on, though, and I may revise this review for better or worse.Sidenote 1: While I had the laptop disassembled, I noticed that there were broken screw posts and slots. I think those occurred when I sent the laptop in for servicing a couple of years ago when the 4K screen stopped working.Sidenote 2: I noticed the the after-market power supplies such as one from Delta has a light that comes on at the base of the tip. I wish the original power supply also had a similar feature.Conclusion: My experience has shown that, as far as Alienware 17R3 with a 4K screen is concerned, aftermarket parts can be superior to the OEM parts.

It was a bit of a process to replace this battery but it went relatively smoothly. I Googled and watched a video and followed the instructions. I have a little bit of experience opening up my laptop but not a lot. Battery is working great. I’ll update if that changes but I can actually use my laptop again while it’s unplugged which is awesome!

This battery is an exact match for the stock Alienware R3 battery. It's seems very slightly lighter, but I didn't check to confirm. Laptop booted fine after installing, no warnings or other issues. Five stars.But one star for Dell. I'm now on my THIRD battery in 4 years. Dell stopped making/supplying these practically the moment my warranty expired. And who is the genius who made installing a replacement require you to practically disassemble the entire machine?

It does fit and it does work but the 100% to 0% is about 25/35 min gaming and 2 hours working. Dont buy this. The Original lasted about 4 hours game I in about 8 hours working.

I ordered the battery and it was delivered by the expected date, so I could adequately plan for installation. I am impress with your commitment for excellence.

This battery kept a good charge for the first two months I had it, then it required the adapter to be plugged in to even stay on. I regret ignoring the bad reviews I saw for this aftermarket part... Don't make the same mistake I did! If you are looking to resell, get this. Otherwise, get Alienware!

Das mit den Ersatzakkus für Laptops ist immer so eine Sache, entweder, sie laden nicht, sie werden nicht erkannt, oder die Kapazität ist nicht die versprochene.Nichts davon trifft auf diesen Akku zu.- Das Gehäuse ist passgenau, und konnte ohne Probleme eingebaut und verschraubt werden.- Der Akku wurde beim ersten Hochfahren erkannt, und konnte sofort genutzt werden- Der Akku wird geladen- Entladerate und Verschleiß werden mit den entsprechenden Tools auch angezeigt.- Die Kapazität scheint dem des originalen Akkus zu entsprechen: Nach dem ersten Einschalten wird ein Akku-Verschleiß von 4% angezeigt.Beim ersten Entladevorgang ist dieser Wert dann auf 8% gestiegen, allerdings zu einer Zeit, als der Akku noch garnicht entladen war, ich bezweifel diese 8% daher etwas. Tatsächlich lief der Laptop danach sogar noch weitere 2 Stunden, allerdings ohne Display-Beleuchtung (ich bin eingeschlafen, wollte eigentlich schauen, wie lange der Akku durchhält, aber mein Akku war wohl schneller leer, als der vom Laptop).Wie dem auch sei, hält der Laptop (17R3 mit 4K Display) jetzt wieder gut vier Stunden, das entspricht der Dauer, welche auch der original Akku aufgebracht hat.- Ich habe auch Belastungstests mit Furmark gemacht, und zwar bei 100% und 20% Akkuzustand. Die Akkuspannung bricht zwar schon merklich ein, aber der Laptop hat sich nicht ausgeschaltet, also auch hier alles in Ordnung.- Über die Lebensdauer der Zellen kann ich natürlich noch nichts machen, aber ich vermute mal, dass es sich um Marken-Zellen handelt, ansonsten würde der Akku nämlich garnicht auf diese Laufzeit kommen.

Akku wurde mit lediglich 80% Kapazität geliefert und ist jetzt nach 6 Monaten defekt (wird weder von der Firmware noch vom Betriebssystem erkannt). Eigentlich 0 Sterne, aber das geht leider nicht. Werde schauen, ob ich einen Ersatz bekomme, sollte nach 6 Monaten ja noch auf Garantie laufen.
