Works great . Be sure you understand what it will do
Hope this helps anyone who is going to use this product. 1st, it is imperative you test for phosphate levels before using. You need to know how much you need to lower the phosphate level before you apply. It WILL cloud the water. You WILL have to clean your filter, likely more then once. It may take a few or several applications to lower the phosphates to under 100. It took 48 hours to completely clear up my water. But after the 48...WOW! Water has never looked so crystal clear. I went from 500 to about 300, so I need at least 1 more application. Only used 1 quart. Do not try and use too much in one application, the filter will clog up too fast. Lower the phosphate level a little at a time. Bottom line... this product does exactly what it should do. It’s inexpensive , and easy to use. Be ready to live with cloudy water for a few days. Be sure to run the filter on high for 48 straight hours, minimum. And be prepared to clean the filter, maybe more then once. A clarifier helps clear the water faster.

Works perfectly!
This product worked wonderfully to remove all the green algae from my pool. I dumped it around the edges of the pool and ran the pump for 24 hrs. Before and after photos are attached. Im so happy to have a sparkling clear pool again. Similar products at my local pool store were $32.99 so this was a great deal. This product was completely clear and odorless. the product worked amazingly and cleared my pool in 24 hrs. Give this a try if your pool needs a phosphate remover.

Worked ok
Seemed to work ok. Bright it down some.My pool had high phosphates so needed more than one bottle. Bought other brand also... Still working on phosphates. Better price than competitors.

Worked great!
I have a locus tree above my pool, and it's constantly dropping something into the pool. My pool wasn't necessarily 'cloudy', but it wasn't sparkling clear either. I took my pool water to the pool store to get tested. It came back with an astronomical amount of phosphates in the water.I decided to use this product, and a flocculant to get the pool clearer. After overnight, I came out to find this blob at the bottom of the pool. I vacuumed it up using waste out, and then back-washed my filter. I was very pleased out this turned out. I took my pool water back in to be tested, and the phosphate levels decreased by 60%, so I'll take that win.

Seemed Like a Miracle Cure
I had an algae issue after having pressure washed the deck around the pool. After shocking the pool and applying aglicide, clarifier and the like the water was still hazy. Frustrations set in until I had a water reading done at the local pool store which showed my phosphates at 900-1000. The guy at the store wasnt concerned about the phosphates as he sold me some algicide. I contacted my pool installer and he immediately said it was a phosphate issue. After searching for a product, I settled on this one. With the size of the pool, I added two bottles (1 per day) and presto, the water cleared up and has never been so clear - I can see flawlessly from one end to the other (36'). I keep a bottle on hand for when things start to look cloudy. I also apply a maintenance dose of algicide and clarifier weekly these days. As I have seen many state, watch the pressure on the filter as you will more than likely need to backwash both before (get some good filtration action) and after (binds up the phosphates real good). I haven't written alot of reviews, but this product was the read deal and a bargain at its price point for what I have seen it do.

Interesting Stuff
I've been suffering with mustard algae every season. For the first month after opening, I have no issues, then it slowly starts creeping in, appearing in the corners and in random spots from which it spreads out and grows darker. Shocking doesn't seem to do an awful lot although it helps to some extent. I can tackle it with sweeping, shocking here and there, but most effective is to use the pool robot, which can suck up most of the algae then I just hose down the bag to remove the algae from the robot filter bag. But, it is then an ongoing issue and a pain to deal with. There's quite a lot of debate about phosphates. The algae needs to feed on the phosphates to survive and grow but phosphates in themselves are not a problem, so some say that you should leave the phosphates and attack the algae directly with Yellow Treat and suchlike. Also some express concern about the lanthanum contained in the phosphate treatment. I decided to try it because it is recommended as a prep for closing and to me it sounds like a good idea to remove phosphates for the winter lay-off.So, I was really viewing this as a preventative and I was rather surprised to see how clear the water looked afterwards. In fact, I'd forgotten what really clear water looks like. I had back-washed before I started the treatment and was surprised to see a lot more gunk come through the back-wash after I'd added the Clorox. I only used one quart for 14,000 gallons. I'll probably be using it again but I'll also be using Yellow Treat next year and I'll see if I need to use both.

Wasn't what I expected
Dealing with Phosphates is a new thing to me, I've been going through a lot of chlorine and I was told it could be high phosphates because I have plants with leaves that blow into pool when it's windy out and it's been windy almost daily. So I got a Taylor test kit and found out it's about twice the limit, but in order to use a phosphate removal chemical you have to clean your filers after 24-48 hrs of running your filter system. Apparently this collects the little guys and it clogs your filters. I just changed my filters so not eager to start that process all over again. Can't win them all, but Taylor tests have integrity, are reliable and easy to use for even an old lady!
