A Valuable Tool for Media Literacy and Critical Analysis
This text provides Insightful approaches to critical discourse analysis, using contemporary examples from various media. I plan to use this for my undergraduate course in discourse analysis. The writing works well with the intent of the text, which is to engage students in thinking about the sea of media we continue to navigate in our daily lives.

What happened to the word "deconstruction"? Critical Discourse Analysis is a meaningless word.... as is pedagogy

Excellent guide for CDA
If you are interested in learning the practicalities of doing critical discourse analysis, this is an essential reading and supporting guide. The language is acessible and there are several good examples to help you reflect on your own research project.

Very clear and well written. Some of the other textbooks on CDA are quite dense, especially if you do not have a formal background in linguistics, but this one is exceptionally clear and provides very practical and useful advice on how to carry out your own CDA.
