They actually work!!!!
I'll be honest. I didn't think these would work, but they did. My son has ADHD and is considered time blind. He has no concept of how long things take. So he was always missing the bus and not getting ready in time. I bought different visual timer coundown clocks but he would get distracted by the minutes and numbers passing by. I'm not sure why these worked for him after all the other things I've tried but they did. Not only do they work but he's starting to get a much better concept of time even without them. I think because he can't actually count down how much time is left but he can see that there's so much sand left so it's not as distracting. I turn the 30min time for him to finish his breakfast. The 10min timer for his clothes, and the 5 minute timer for brushing his teeth. Since day one of buying these he hasn't once been late and has actually had extra time to just relax before the bus come. Our families morning stress levels are way down!! Can't recommend these enough and I am buying some for my kids school now.

Fantastic! Purchase NOW!
I have kids ages 3, 5,7. They love these! They love how colorful they are. I love that I can stop nagging and tell my kids its time to get in the van when the green timer is done. I love how the set has a 30 minute timer which we use for rest time, and reading time. Our three year old is often asking for a sand timer. I have not timed them to see if they are accurate. So far we haven't broken any (I'm a little nervous about that). However we think these are FANTASTIC. They work super well for what we use them for. Also they arrived well packaged and super fast! I will definitely order more if/when one bites the dust on the kitchen tile floor...

Surprisingly Durable!
I was a little nervous about having these timers in my classroom as they are made of glass even though it is listed as a high borosilicate glass, however after one student threw a timer across the room and there was no break or crack, I am sure these will work great! The variety of timers will be helpful in teaching the students self-management skills.

Perfect for kids!
Received our sand timer set today. Each timer was neatly packaged in its own box, ensuring no damage. First thing we did was test the accuracy of each timer compared to iPhone timer and all 6 were right on time! Can’t wait to start using these with the kids for brushing teeth, screen time, time outs, reading homework, taking turns, etc. We used to use the kitchen or iPhone timer, but my 4 year old was having a hard time understanding. This is going to visually help show him time remaining.

Great for kids' timeouts.
I got these to t̶o̶r̶t̶u̶r̶e̶ my children during their timeouts. I remember having to sit and watch an egg timer tick down when I was on a timeout as a kid, so I figured watching sand fall might be just as effective if not more so. It's effective alright. The kids actually seem to like them. I try and grab the 3 or 5 minute timer and, because they like purple or orange more, they demand the larger/longer timer. Go figure. I have them watch the timer and report when it's done.It doesn't seem to torture them at all. Beyond the timeout giving them a cool down period, I think that watching the sand fall has a relaxing, almost hypnotizing effect. They come out of their time outs significantly more soothed. Would highly recommend. They also work great for teaching kids some time management. It's much easier to visualize 3 or 5 minutes by watching the timer. For example, giving them 5 minutes to brush their teeth and starting the timer. Then pointing out when they're dawdling and how much time has gone and how much remains.

Stop yelling! Name the consequence & flip the timer!
I haven’t tested it for accuracy so I can’t review that part. I freaking love these things!!! I initially bought these as a recommendation from my sons teacher as my son tends to finish his art projects too quickly, and the teacher recommended getting a sand timer to help him immerse into the activity, and help him paint for a minimum amount of time rather than rushing it through. It has helped me with these daily annoying battles: getting dressed, cleaning up, stopping an activity & transitioning to a new one - like, a meal! Toy sharing & taking turns, brushing teeth, and more! It has also helped ME stop an activity when I know I need to stop doing something and get to doing something else. There’s something secure & soothing about being able to watch the time go by and visually see the sand fall while doing an activity. It really prepares the mind (perhaps an adult mind) for transitions. The accompanying book was helpful & gave me some ideas on how to use them. It’s better to use these rather then keep telling the kids it’s time for this, that, stop this, stop that... i put the time sander on, let them be aware of the consequences (good & not so good). It works more effectively for my 7 year old than my 4 year old. But it is def helping my 4 year old grasp the concept of time.

High quality and immediately beneficial!
I expected these to be more like the squishy sand timers you find in board games but they're quite large, made of glass, seem to be of very good quality, and don't look like they'll be breaking any time soon. I bought them to help with one specific issue and we now use them all day long. My 4 year old loves them. She actually asks if we can use the timers and they really help spur her along as she does various tasks. We used timers quite often before (google home or on my phone) but it never felt fair to me because, being so young, she had no good way of telling if she was running out of time. With these brightly colored sand timers, all she has to do is glance up and know how much time she has. We've seen a dramatic improvement, both in result and mindset/attitude, in lots of areas including cleaning up, brushing teeth, and finishing meals in a reasonable time. I highly recommend this product!
