The Young Peacemaker: Teaching Students to Respond to Conflict in God's Way

This very practical set of lessons on conflict resolution for children contains a vast scope of ideas for helping kids think through what it takes to get along with others and glorify God in the process. Conflict is meant to change me for better as well as you, and these lessons clearly show that. In our children's class it provided terminology and constructs for thinking through what is really happening in a conflict. Helpful scenarios and worksheets are included and individual workbook as available as take-home supplements. Every children's ministry should go through these lessons on a regular basis.

I am blessed that my girls (4 girls, ages 8-14)get along well. But they are still children and have unique personalities that sometimes clash. This book has been wonderful. We've worked through it rather slowly - taking about a year to finish it. But they understand it and are applying the principles.The format is for more for a classroom than home use, but it was simple to adapt. We only read a page or two each day, keeping the time short and sweet. They remember the stories and we've had some great discussions relating our situation to what we are learning in the book.I printed some of the activity pages from the CD. The girls didn't do them voluntarily, and I didn't force them to do them, but they looked like fun, engaging activities.

A fantastic resource for teachers and pastors for teaching how to resolve conflict in a fun visually pleasing format. Lesson plans are well structured and easy to use! and effective tool for teaching Biblically based Emotional intelligence!

I would recommend this to all parents!! I'm learning along with my children. When you have several kids, conflict is inevitable and occurs often. I had become overwhelmed and unsure of how to handle it. This book is full of useful information, illustrations, and reminders we can all use to help each other not fall off the "slippery slope" in how we deal with conflict.

Every parent needs to read it and teach it to their children. As you read it and teach it, it will transfer you also

I've been using this as supplemental material in my 7th and 8th grade religion class. This is packed full of topics that I feel children today do not hear and are sorely in need of hearing. I highly recommend it for Christian schools, Sunday Schools, or at home for devotions.

Excellent book on teaching children how to be peace makers.It uses Biblical concept to teach the fact that there is no need to be always right and that there are ways to resolve conflict.I've sat in a group that did it as a bible study and was impressed with it.
