I bought this about 3 years ago and still use it although I don’t really think it works as well as initially intended and marketed. If you continually dunk a wash mitt in a wash bucket the dirt never really settles to the bottom. I now have a better wash method that does not need a grit guard. I think they have gone the way of the buggy whip.

Surprised by the amount of dirt in the bottom of the bucket, make sure it's a 5 Gallon Home Depot Bucket because it will not work in a Lowes bucket, weather they have modified it to fit a Lowes bucket at this time I do not know. Helps keep the dirt off the wash mitt.

These guards are great and yet depending on the type and size of 5gal bucket you use, they may not fit right.My suggestion to you is this.Take these guards with you to a big box home improvement store, and try them in the wide variety of buckets that they carry until you find the one that allows the guard to rest flush on the bottom. Also make sure there is minimal or NO gap between sidewall of bucket and the guard. If you get a bucket that is too "loose" or big for the guard, they will float to the top of your wash or rinse bucket, thus defeating the purpose of buying them to begin with.I did not do this but did buy proper buckets for these guards. One bucket must have been molded slightly abnormally as one of my guards floated.***HERE's the golden tip! Take zip ties and wrap it around the outer ring of the grit guard, at all four points nearest the cross fins. The zip ties will act as a spacer at those points where the circumference of the guards tend to pull in a bit in the molding process. You can try more or less, larger or smaller spacers depending on how much gap you're trying to fill. GENIUS! ...Too bad it was not my idea :)

I use these for my detailing business and love them. Found them on Amazon cheaper than anywhere else and to be honest I was kind of expecting them to be fairly cheap. I was wrong! They are sturdily build, and fit perfectly into the bucket. They are very easy to remove because of the thumb holes. They fit snug enough when you dump your bucket out, they stay in, but are easy to pull out with very little effort

I ordered and recieved this in less than a week ( normal shipping).It works wonderfully. I never used 2 buckets to wash my cars before. Now that I have...., and see the results= I will always use 2 buckets.Tried the Lowes blue bucket ( cheaper). Only got halfway down. Not very good for a wash bucket but as a rinse bucket it works well for that. Tried a Home Depot Homer ( orange) bucket. Got to about 1 to 2 inches from the bottom= perfect for the soap bucket.After the first wash, I could see the difference in the way my vehicle looked, but the water had a lot of sediment. Just think how much of that would have been left on the vehicle without it.Worth the money. Especially since its a 2 pack= good to go.

This was not as heavily made as others I have. It is about 3/8" to small and the insert floats up in suds. I have had my micro fiber mitt get caught around the edges. This does not happen on the MEQ. insert.

Not sure why people are saying this doesn’t fit the new buckets from Lowe’s. Maybe those reviews aren’t talking about their 5-gallon buckets.In any case, I’d recommend taking the grit guards to your home improvement store of choice, and actually testing the fit.I can vouch for Lowe’s 5-GALLON (!!) buckets—the guards fit snugly into the buckets and don’t move even while being knocked around during a wash!Great product at a fair price compared to the alternatives on Amazon.

Excellent product for car washing. I couldn't believe how much dirt was trapped the bottom of the bucket after washing my Van. Keeps the micro fiber cloths cleaner. Paint was much cleaner after the wash too.

Not much to write on a plastic insert, it does what it was designed to do.The price on amazon was much better then many other locations on this item.
