I bought the book after dining at Restaurant Nathan Outlaw despite really not needing another cookbook.The book is laid out by seasonal recipes with beautiful photography and a lot of additional information about the chef’s ethos and philosophy and non-recipe sections on suppliers used by the restaurant and general guidance on preparation and techniques.At the end of the day of course it comes down to the recipes. While I’ve only had a chance to actually try a couple so far my impression is the recipes are not ridiculously complex requiring days to prepare (and I mean that literally with some of the higher end chef collections where key components need to be created and left for days) nor do they require ‘impossible to find for the normal person’ ingredients (unlike say, Thomas Keller’s Laundry or the Nobu collections- both great books in their own way, but too often of academic interest only because of the difficulty in sourcing). What you WILL require is a good fish supplier who can get hold of slightly more unusual (but still British and obtainable) fish. Freshness is the key, so any lobster, crab or shellfish dishes will be based on getting hold of live product and being comfortable handling and preparing them. As would be expected from recipes from a two star Michelin restaurant much is about the fine detail and presentation but they do all seem doable. Looking forward to trying more of the recipes in the book.

The book was covered in dust and grease! It looked amazing inside. I would recommend the book but from another seller. What a shame!

On opening box found this new book was dirty and smeared. I see a couple of other similar reviews. It was for a gift so will return for another and hope is pristine. The items inside look great, but unacceptable condition.

Bought this for my partner and hid a table booking at his restaurant inside, both of us are fish lovers and this book has an amazing selection of recipes which we are definitely going to try, well written and superbly illustrated too, if you want new ideas for fish recipes then this is a must have book.

Beautifully presented book with stunning photographs. Easy to see why the restaurant is so highly rated.
