I have a 2013 Ford Taurus SHO!My remote start button stop working and then my remote became very sensitive to touch. I went to several ford dealers and no one could get these to work! These are junk and I definitely do not recommend. And I waited to long and could not get a refund...complete waist of money

I went to the Ford dealership originally after my original fob died, and they wanted $380 for a new fob. I got this one for just over $40 here on Amazon. The Ford dealership wanted to charge me $150 just to program this replacement fob (which they of course highly doscouraged I get to begin with). I easily found a locksmith on google who did it it for $50: even came to my house after work hours at no extra cost. Took him 15 minutes.One initial concern I had was whether or not my original glovebox key would fit in the key slot of this replacement fob. I wasn't sure if I'd have to pay to have the new fob's key cut. Fortunately, the original key fits perfectly as it did in the original fob. So that saved me even more money.The quality appears equal to the original, and the silicon sleave offers extra protection (albeit at the cost of being significantly bulkier). One reviewer said the keyhole was too small, and while it is small, it is no smaller than the factory fob's. Another reviewer complained that there's no instructions, but the description says you need a professional's help. It even came with a battery. This basically saved me almost $300. I couldn't be happier.

Wish it be easier to find a place that cuts the key. You can only program if you have two keys, so it is best to buy this before you lose a key. Lesson Learned. If a key is lost be sure to buy the program dongle too. You are better off reprogramming all of your keys knowing that lost key is out there misplaced. The engine doesn't go until your home. Just to replace one key with the dealer is 200-300 dollars. I got two keys and the programmer dongle for less than to buy one key from the dealer. But now still in search of a locksmith to cut the keys. I have hear quotes of 50-100 dollars. Still searching. The dealers do make it hard.

On the positive side this was easy to program and works great. On the negative, and this is a big one, is that the hole for the keyring is almost non existent. I use a very small keychain and it didn't fit. I had to carve out a bigger hole with a razor. You pay less than an original key but it really seems odd how bad the key ring opening is.

No instructions for programming. Difficult to program. Web site accessible with a password only which I did not have. Will most likely be returning this item.

Bought this replacement for a 2013 Ford Explorer. I took the key to a locksmith with a store front to be programmed. (65.00) It was a cheaper option than using a locksmith that works solely out of a vehicle. It was also cheaper than taking to a Ford dealer.The locksmith warned me that it was possible the replacement key could corrupt my car's security making even my original key not work. They said it was rare but some aftermarket smart keys have caused problems during programming. I was aware that Ford dealerships also issue the same warning for keys not bought from them.Based on the reviews of this product I had the locksmith program the key. THERE WERE NO PROBLEMS AT ALL. The key functions exactly as my original. I have the remote start.An added plus is the silicon sleeve that fits over the fob.
