Star Blazers Bandai Space Cruiser Yamato Captain Okita's Battleship with Mini Cosmo Zero No.19 Model

Like all the Mecha collection ships, Avatar's battleship (kit #19) is "box scale", so although this ship is smaller than the Argo in the television series, the model will be about the size of the Mech-scale Argo (kit #1). Such is life. The best part of kit #19 is the inclusion of a very nice Cosmo Zero starfighter (the one Wildstar flew in the Iscandar series). The Cosmo Zero looks great but is only a little larger than a quarter when assembled. Painting will require some skill. As for the Avatar battleship, the box art is fabulous but the kit's shape is off - it is too slender and lacks the portliness that characterizes the ship as shown in the TV animation.

It is small. It does take a long time to show up. It's totally worth $4. The shipping sucks because it's free, for better shipping it would probably be double the price, it's from japan. One time purchase and I have a cool ship to stick on my shelf forever. I spent $40 (the price of some posters) and got ten differant ships from the show, now every morning I wake up to an awesome display. I'm not good at building models, so I didn't. They are just displayed in their super cool 1970s Yamato boxes!!

I have made a dozen models in this series. The molding is supurb and the fit is perfect. Reviewers of other kits refer to an older set of models of these ships (negatively). This is one of the old ones. The copyright on the box is 1980! It is not a good model by Bandai's present standards. It was shipped in a brown envelope and the box was crushed. Avoid!

Teeny-tiny, but ridiculously detailed. This comes with an even tinier companion ship, which I love.

パッケージや劇中のイメージからするとずんぐりとしているのですが、結構スマートです。唯一直したいのは艦橋兼主砲がひらべったいところでしょうか。ランナーが赤なのでディテールがわかりにくいのでいったん灰色を塗ってから赤や黄色を塗るといいと思います。おまけ？のコスモゼロも作ってあげましょうｗ

200円で、このディティールは、素晴らしいと思います。楽しく作れました。最近でた、高い艦より、スタイリッシュでした。と思います。
