In addition to wrapping foods such as rice, meat, and vegetables, grape leaves can be used in salads or as a garnish for appetizer plates.

they were awesome!! i rinsed them quickly not too long under water.. then rolled them with lamb rice and seasoning.. i put them in a combo of water, oil, and lemon juice and let them just cook and cook for 5 hours on low with a plate on top, and a cover on. they were awesome! My arabic co-worker even liked them.. Time consuming.. but it is not the grape leaves fault lol.. they have a great flavor, and there were very few unusable pieces.

Grown in China yet advertised as California style
Despite the name California, these are grown in China.Considering the advice from the medical profession about not buying food made in China due to uncertain quality, this is shown in such fine print as to be misleading.

Great product, cheaper in stores.
Too pricey...after purchasing ended up finding it in store 60% less cost. However the item itself is one of my mom's favorites and she's tried them all.

On the small side and most were split
As large as this jar was, I completely expected to see that the leaves were pretty big too. Part of what I chose this one. However, the leaves were small, hardly large enough to roll into more than a little thin cigar shape; and most were split down the middle at the spine in addition to the natural curve of each lobe, so you had to have some pretty darn flexible fingers to get them to roll and not loose the contents. Some were so tiny though, smaller by half than the palm of my small size hand. They tasted good, tender enough, and there were a ton of leaves in the jar. But not something I'll buy again. I need a little larger and more consistent product.

So Sorry!
I soaked the leaves in cold water for 15 min. I boiled them in small batches for 5 minutes. I refrigerated them for two days, and they were still too tough to eat. I have also frozen some and am hoping the freezing process will soften the vines. It is like there are twigs running down the middle of each leaf. A pure waste of time and money.

Freshness
The product was very well packaged and ready to use without difficulty. I would order them again.

One Star
Leaves fell apart while rolling. I only got about 70% of jar to roll properly without ripping.
