Another fantastic book from Italy
Another fantastic book from Italy! I purchased the book, without even looking at it, to show support for all the blog post, videos and community support provided for by the authors. I have used the DAX patterns website, but I prefer the book to be able to bookmark and make notes. The first few chapters are full of excellent reminders and nice references for a quick tune up. The patterns are an excellent way for me to learn, providing examples that I can mimic with other solutions. Even if they don't fit perfect, it always provides a great starting point to modify as needed. Thanks for all the support on your websites and blog post!! Brent

Excellent book
Excellent book. It brief and succinct with excellent examples. I have lent my copy to others at work to look at too get an overview. I then suggested that they buy their own copy as a reference tool.

Great content but formatting issues in the initial version of the Kindle book
The content is great! It shows the pattern and several examples with explanations of why/how it works and offers some alternative approaches. The Kindle book seems to have formatting issues at the moment. Also be aware that most of the content in the book can be found on the DAXPatterns.com website (they acknowledge this in the book's intro). They have added a couple of introductory chapters for the book. That said, it is a GREAT reference book, and I got a copy so I could access the info offline or on my tablet as needed. I live in this book or the website when I'm writing new DAX calculations.

Fantastic book for more advanced users
Fantastic book for more advanced users. I've learned so much from all the books by this author on powerpivot. This is great in going into detail on several advanced ways of doing complex analysis reporting.

A must read for the everyday Excel business analyst
As a simplification of Microsoft's new tools to rescale Excel into a genuine tool for any BI task, this book can propel the Excel Data Analyst into competent use of Microsoft's new BI tools. Though the author has placed much of this content on the WEB....this reassembly into one resource makes the use of Power Pivot a sensible tool in reach for the everyday business analyst. This relieves the analyst of reliance on a SQL programmer to pull in data which heretofore EXCEL could not manage alone.

Good Material- but very Glitchy Kindle Download for me
This book has been downloaded twice by me and I am having great trouble using it. I have re-downloaded the Kindle software to my Surface Pro 3 Windows 8 with no improvement. There are huge sections of the book- beginning with Chapter 3 that are either blank pages OR the words appear in a column only ONE character wide. Usually there are two columns on a page - in the usual column format- BUT..... try reading a sentence where every letter is above the next- 3 words on a page. What parts of the book I have gone thru are EXACTLY what I wanted- good visuals of how these DAX formulas are put together and how they work. The associated files that accompany the book are good- BUT very tedious to get. Rather than just download a zip file with the files you will need- each one must be sought out and each one appears - not at the top of a web page discussion of same topic but at the bottom of a 2nd column that won't move until you get to the bottom of the 1st column. There are supposed to be links in each chapter to the file you need but as I said- so many chapters are garbled I only found one link. If these glitches can get cleaned up- this book would appear to me- based on what I have seen to be a great value for the $$. I have two other Power BI books that have been a little glitchy with the Kindle-

Quality book... no brainer must buy!
If you’re learning DAX, this book, along with The Definitive Guide to DAX is what you need. This book will set you up with a decent base library of scripts to help you get started. Don’t be fooled though, you still need to do some leg work; the book is intense! This book has been added to my “go-to” library of problem solving resources.
