Dr. Brucato is fascinating
This book is fascinating, contains great examples, and helps create a framework for assessing perpetrators behaviors and actions. I always enjoy Dr. Brucato’s work. Listening to him dissect and explain criminal behavior during interviews is fascinating. It is also clear he has a kind heart. Great work!

Proceed with caution
Bottom line. This is a text book, and should be treated as such. It should be mandatory reading for students of criminology. It is extremely interesting, and also extremely disturbing because of its subject matter.I imagine it is purchased for a variety of reasons though...The coauthors are professionals and took great care in writing this book. It's not for amateur sleuths. It's the real deal. That being said, anyone can learn a great deal from reading this book from cover to cover. Just hold onto your hats. It's a bumpy ride.

You may need to step away at times. .
When the examples of the categories of crime described by Dr. Brucato hit you in the heart and stomach. It's an updated version but it's an excellent read if true crime and psychology appeal to you. His research on spree killers, mass murderers, and school shooters, especially school shooters, makes clear that ego and a perception of entitlement play significant roles in the actions of these people, rather than classical mental illness.

Dr. Brucato and Dr. Stone redefined Evil.
I am a big fan of Dr. Brucato as I listen to The Interview Room, a weekly YouTube show he is a regular on. He and (deceased) Dr. Stone wrote an insightful, well researched book that truly redefines Evil. They made 22 categories, from Justifiable Homicide (1) to psychopathic torture-murderers (22) with detailed examples and rationale for the ratings. Some of it is so horrible, I had to read a chapter, put it down and read Harry Potter, then come back to it another day. But I learned a lot. They explain the backgrounds of these killers and what made them Evil. After reviewing the 22 Evils, they then talk about important evils in the world today, like school shooters. As a parent and a special education teacher, I was particularly interested in the childhoods of these people, and what to look for and how to try to break the links. I also love how Dr. Brucato always reminds us to remember the victims, that they matter. His innate kindness and caring for vixtims when also describing these despicable creatures is truly remarkable.

This isn’t just a book, this is a journey
Join Drs. Michael H. Stone and Gary D. Brucato as they take you down roads where the mindless uncritical boosters of Humanity have long feared to treadEver wonder why things are the way they are, why incredibly violent acts have occurred with a rapidity unheard of in your lifetime? A question such as this may be a complete boggle to the average consumer- if you feel you have to wait in line for the next iPhone, do me a favor and read this book while you are sitting aroundTo be sleep is to accept the world as it is without question or study; to be awake is to question all you see and understand and, among other things, accept the concept of personal responsibilityNeedless to say, those whom have been “awakened” (and once you have been awakened you may never “sleep” again) will populate the audience for this ground-breaking book which explores the societal forces at work in the last 55 or so years- recent memory to many of us- which have now bottle-necked into the moral morass in which we suffer at the present timeSome friends of mine brag that they have never read a book in their life and as such walk through life unprotected- l would counsel them to secure this book- learn and be awakenedFinish this lucid, well-written and well reasoned exploration of the ills presently plaguing American society and know you may not fall asleep ever again; Drs. Brucato and Stone outline, individually and separately, their various theses, exploring the circumstances of these crimes and clearly impressing upon these their definitions and understandings through the use and elucidation of Dr. Stone’s “Gradations of Evil scale”- this book could easily be fashioned into an elective in any university’s curriculum“Evil” is a term bandied about carelessly by the “PC” crowd- allow these two experts to unweave the obstructive strands which have long enshrouded this ancient abstraction as they cut into the core of the matters at hand; understand then how to define exactly what “Evil” is, and does; then project such understanding into your individual world-view and ask yourself “how have l changed since reading this book?”IkeP S: by the way there is a page in the book that will remind you what a neat ladySusan B. Anthony was

Outstanding!! A new understanding of evil!
Outstanding! A brilliant piece of work within the criminal psychology and criminology field. The literature provides a new and exciting approach to understanding violent psychopathy and violent crime within the evil scale. The authors make the information easy to read and understand while making their findings interesting to the reader. A must read for all people who are interested within this area and especially for academic students studying the forensic psychology and criminological field.

Another great work by Michael Stone.
The author continues his research regarding psychopaths and other severely disturbed personality disorders with criminal conducts. It is a good follow-up to Anatomy of Evil and the documentary series Most Evil. Probably the best modern work regarding psychopathy.
