Systems Analysis and Design

Required Textbook
Was required and allowed me to do the work and pass the class. In retrospect seems like it was a good book but I have nothing to compare it to. I use some of what I learned and the people I work with don't ridicule me over it.

Good book
This book is pretty good. Interesting. I read the whole thing . Got it for a rental which was so reliable because I got it on time and I am about to return it. I used this book for a university course.

Good Introduction to the SDLC
Decent book on the SDLC. It has some flaws here and there (to be fair, systems design is not set in stone). Generally it is a useful introduction that leads you through the Analysis and Design of a Computer System. It does not require you to know code and should be easy to understand even for someone who does not have a technical background.I gave it 4 stars since it has a high price and sometimes confuses. It also tends to be really dry at points.

Good for college rental
Had to rent this for a graduate course, it's alright, not too dry or outdated yet so there's a good amount of new information.

Solid material, but grammatically confusing.
Systems Analysis and Design includes some great material. Sadly, that great material includes some great grammatical errors. Errors so bad they can cause confusion to the reader on the materials meaning. Hopefully they hire someone to fix those errors in future editions.

Renter Beware. This is not the complete book.
If you are taking a System Analysis and Design class do not rent or buy this book. You will go to look up things in the glossary and find out that the book itself does not contain what is listed in the glossary.. For example I tried to look up Sequence Diagrams; the glossary said page 451 but the book itself only goes to page 426. The book sat on my shelf the entire semester!

I needed it for a 3rd year Uni Class and it is a very comprehensive read. The summary section at the end helps and the book is very detailed.
