I purchased a new electric smoker a short time ago. I tried all three flavors included in this pack in the new smoker. First and foremost, it's very important to soak the wood chips for 30 minutes, or more, prior to added them to the smoker. This will produce more smoke flavor, and enhance the overall flavor of whatever you are smoking.The apple chips were surprisingly good. I used them on very thick pork chops. My wife and I couldn't eat them fast enough.The alder chips are ok. Probably wouldn't buy them given the other options.The hickory chip provide a predictable taste, and have been my favorite smoked flavor for many years.

These are shredded wood bits. Not chunks. Not chips. But I gave it three stars because they work. And the price isn't too bad.

I got these for Christmas, yesterday, for my Father-in-law and he loved them. The chunks are a tad bit on the small side but he liked them nonetheless and he uses his smoker every chance he gets.

Given as a gift

I ordered & received this product. The description stated: "wood chuncks". I wanted "chunks" for my smoker. The packages I received said "chunks". At best, the wood pieces were chips, and on the average, small pices and slivers. Next time I'll buy local retail (Home Depot) where I can see what the product is.

These are not supposed to be chunks the burner wont burn them..expect the bag that came with the smoker!! And expect the same.i am completely happy with this smoker and cant stand ignorance

I specifically searched for chips, not chunks. Chunks will not work in my Masterbuilt smoker.

I purchased these for use in a smoker as the description says these are wood "chuncks". The packaging reads "chuncks" as well but these are clearly "chips" (small slivers), by any reasonable definition.
