Galco Stow-N-Go Inside The Pant Holster for S&W M&P Compact 9/40

This was a cheap holster that I purchased to carry while my more expensive holster was being made. It actually turns out that I tend to carry my Galco holster alot more than the expensive hybrid holster.Re holstering my M&P Shield is very easy due to the top of the holster having a hard frame to allow the gun to slide in. The rest of the holster is leather and without the gun, will collapse on itself. This makes it easy to break in, but leaves a lot to be desired when it comes to retention.The belt clip is very well made for a 1.5" belt. It slides over very easily, and the bottom of it is hooked such that it secures the holster from being pulled up without releasing it from the belt. This keeps it in place during various activities.I weigh 165lbs and measure 5'10" and usually carry this holster either AIWB or IWB around 4 o'clock. Either position is very comfortable.This is a great cheap leather holster that I have suggested to all of my friends.

I've tried many IWB holster over the past few years and none of them comes close the the Galco. I use it for undercover, 5 round .38 caliber weapons of various brand and they fit like a glove. I always order Galco Draw-Ez which is a lubricant made for leather holsters. The stuff is magic. It's consistency is similar to KY jelly, dries fast and allows the weapon to slide out effortlessly. Within a week or so of wearing the holster, it molds perfectly to the particular pistol being used. Also, this holster is completely comfortable. I cannot recommend any of the dozen or so IWB holsters after using the Galco. It is superior to all holsters I've used and I will never use another holster. By the way, the Galco comes in many sizes. I even have one for a G19 and it's perfect! The Glock rides low and is very difficult to see to the untrained eye. I highly recommend this holster.

You'll love this holster if you have a M&P Shield. I've tried over 14 holsters for IWB and this is the best. I use this every single day for my CCW at the office. No one knows I have a gun and this Galco holster provides comfort throughout the day. Doesn't take more than a couple weeks to break in. The only thing that sometimes annoyed me when I was breaking it in, the leather sheds ever so slightly onto my Shield. Only bugs me, it's not a big deal, and not enough of an issue to take away any stars. Many of my friends who are cops use this for their off duty carry. This holster will likely hold up long into the future and has worked well for me the past 8 months. The plastic clip will likely be the first thing to break, but I'm confident it will hold up, and for the price (300% cheaper than so many competitors), it is well worth it.

2nd Galco leather holster I've purchased. Let me tell you, I regret nothing. The holster was broken in and comfortable after wearing it for an hour a day for a whole week. Not only is it comfortable but it is a snug. a close friend of mine and I went on a 7 mile hike (both wearing galcos). Honestly, I forgot the damn thing was on my hip at a 4 O'clock position! I own a crossbreed holster for the same carry gun and I haven't touched it since I received my stow and go.Well done galco, you've got yourself a reoccurring customer for what ever firearms I continue to buy!

this holster fits my m&p shield like a glove. one problem i saw right away was that the rigid leather around the top that keeps the holster open, hits the thumb safety on the weapon. i tried jiggling the gun around (unloaded of course) inside the holster while not wearing it, and it did indeed click the safety into the "off" position. it hasn't happened yet while wearing, but i haven't had it long. i am wondering if i could maybe cut away a little bit of the leather...the other thing is that while the rigid leather at the top edge keeps the holster open, the rest of the holster is soft suede and gets smashed inside the waistband, making it somewhat difficult to reholster.otherwise, the holster does what it's supposed to, keeps your weapon concealed inside the waistband. will post pics.

Extremely tight fit for S&W M&P .40, as described in listing, but it does accommodate the pistol. Constructed very durable and holds well to a belt or just pants waistband. Major issue is that it is difficult to draw from behind the back due to the very snug fit. I had to brace holster on counter top and force pistol into it holding the back of the slide several times before I could do it by hand and it is still tight. I don't think I could draw my pistol from this holster in a reasonable time if I needed to and will not use it.

Galco is good for making a great product for an awesome price. They also make higher end holsters for a matching price. This was for the s&w m&p compact 40 holster. It is a great product, and the pistol fits very snugly (especially at first. You practically have to cram it in). It has a nice fit, and conceals very well. I have seen nicer holsters, but not for $20. Great buy, I recommend it, and you will not regret it.

I thought the clip was going to be metal but it's some type of plastic and this kind of worried me at first. I have had no issues with it yet. It actually holds in place very nice when you draw a gun from it. I even tried it with pants with no belt and gym shorts. It holds in place very well.
