Great Play Mat!
This mat is very large and perfect for what we needed. It is very easy to clean, just wipe with some water and mild soap. It's very soft and a great cushion. my little guy fell and hit his head, but he was well protected from the hard wood floors underneath the mat, no crying! I plan to buy another one for more play areas!

Cannot handle an active, curious 6-9 month old
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. We vetted several play mats and settled on the Space Baby Play Mat, with very high hopes; unfortunately, the mat did not quite meet our expectations.About Us / Our Baby:-We purchased the mat on March 24th (Baby is 6months old)-We used the mat for a little less than 90 days (Baby has aged to 9months old)-Throughout the course of the mat's short life, Baby's play style has changed; on this mat, he has: -Learned to army crawl -Learned to crawl-crawl -Learned to stand -Begun walking with supportPros:-Cleans easily; whether you sweep or wipe, it's easy to clean and maintain the mat. Spills (coffee, water, milk) are not a problem at all!- Large, and has a nice space pattern on it (we have yet to use the opposite side, the chevron pattern.)- The padding is sufficient - your little one will still get bumped when falling or tipping over, but not as badly as if it were a tile floor or hardwood (*NOTE: we do keep a thin area-rug beneath the mat, for add'l padding)**CONS** The mat simply ISN'T DURABLE ENOUGH to handle an active baby; nothing unusual has happened on the mat, just typical crawling, rolling, playing with simple toys, and 3 spills (1 coffee, 2 water). •The mat suffered a SIGNIFICANT GOUGE/RIP (approx. 18 inches long!) within a few weeks of owning it -- from a plastic toy being moved along its surface. •The stitching on the mat's edges - that connect the foam with a textile boarder - is a single-thread, and is coming undone in multiple places. •There are multiple spots on the mat where the upper-most layer of the mat, the vinyl onto which the space-print is made, is getting loose, and saggy (think of bubble-wrap after its been popped). These wear/stretch spots are accumulating, and beginning to rip, individually. The mat has a certain tackiness to it, that - while beneficial for a baby learning to crawl of walk - ends up resulting in lots of stretching and tearing. It offers traction for a baby's knees, or feet; but is still too delicate to handle the resulting force. This mat may be better suited to an older child, who understands what can/cannot be played with on the mat, and how to interact with it in a way that won't damage it - but even a well-supervised baby is bound to damage this mat significantly after a few months.

A great find!!!
This play mat is an excellent investment! We were able to use it right away- no need to wait for an "off-gassing" period because there weren't any yucky plastic or chemical smells. The colors are vibrant, and cleanup after our little Vomitron is a breeze! The edge binding is a great feature, with what appears to be very durable stitching instead of merely being glued.I will have to come back and add to my review once we've had it for awhile to be able to fully comment on the actual durability, but right now I have no complaints, and a great deal of expectation that it will last!

We love this mat and it is currently a permanent accent not regularly put away
We use this mat in our living room on our hardwood so that baby has a padded place to play while learning mobility. We keep it neutral side up since we keep it there instead of an area rug. Once unrolled we placed books on the corners to flatten it (otherwise baby makes a b-line to pull them up and chew on them). If rolled up to clean floor, of course that again curls the sides, but having the bag for storage/travel is nice. Biggest pros are the quality and that it is one large mat, unlike the many puzzle-piece mats available. For wear, it certainly holds up to baby and it is easy to wipe clean spit up or other similar baby messes. We also have pets though, and the dog's nails have punctured the mat in a few places as well as it is hard to wipe her hair off of it as it seems to static clean to the material. As long as you're not neurotic about it though, it's fine. We figured out a vacuum seems to works better for dirt and hair (or a shake-off). We highly recommend it overall and think the price is fair for size and quality of the product.

adorable mat
Bought this for my daughters play area and it is adorable! We bought it because of the space theme. Gives good cushion and its a great size. Easy to clean with just soap and water.

HUGE
We had to make space in the baby room for this huge mat. It’s very slippery but grips to bare skin well. Still trying to get it to flatten out all the way as it came rolled up. I can imagine when it comes time for baby to have tummy time this will be great. I slept on it the day we got it and while it’s no mattress it is definitely comfortable.

Looks great and thats were it ends
received this in the mail after a looooong wait but with all going on in the world it's understandable. Opened it up and it has a cool design and thought it was worth the wait.Laid it out and my son loved it. Nice cushion surgace and lots of shapes and bright colors. .....That is the good new now for the rest of the story. Within a couple of weeks the mat started separating and coming apart. I started seeing pieces of the surface on my sons clothes. I would stear clear of this one. When the quality fails from a infant and his toys it is a red flag that this isn't a isolated problem.

Great baby play space
I was originally looking for a mat that would fold up, but we have a space themed nursery so I couldn't pass this up. It's BIG, big enough that we put the playpen enclosure on it and still have room on the sides. But the baby loves it, he loves looking at and reaching for all the planets and stars. And when he spits up, it's very easy to clean - just a quick wipe. And, most importantly, it's pretty comfortable. It's one of the thickest mats available. Adults can easily get down on the mat and be comfortable laying on the floor with the baby, even the grandparents like it.
