Poor Fit
I am disappointed this coat didn't work out for me. I loved the color and the style and the fact that it has a lightweight lining perfect for early spring and fall days. The fit is strange. I did order one size up. I am pear shaped so the top of the jacket was big though the shoulder area and the bottom part just fit so I was afraid to size down. The sleeves were exceptionally long and it felt like too much coat for me.

Soft shell jacket with faults
This is a softshell jacket which repels rain and resists wind. I love these type of jackets for that, and they can be great in all kinds of weather. The problem with jackets of this type is that the material is not very forgiving. So, the cut and fit need to be just right in order for it to work.Out of the box, this jacket looks great. It has princess seams, the softshell material is backed, and construction looks good. However, the jacket is just does not meet up to the requirements for fit and cut.** The arms are tight but the length is long.** The shoulders are narrow but the bust is large.** It runs a tad small overall. These factors all combined make the fit poor and the jacket restrictive. I have it in an L and an XL. I normally would be an L and it fits like a medium. But the XL tells me all I need to know. It looks like it hanging on me and there is excessive fabric everywhere ... but I can't move my arms ... and I am small on top with narrow shoulders!I just can't recommend this jacket unless you think you have the type of body that might fit in it ... narrow shoulders, big bousom, and thin, long arms.

Flattering, lightweight, moisture-repelling jacket!
The Otterline Softshell jacket is a great addition to my coat collection! It is a nice, lightweight jacket that has a moisture-repellent exterior and a cozy fleece lining that almost feels like velour.I am 5'10 and usually wear a size 8. The jacket is a size medium and fits well overall except that the arms are a bit tight near the shoulders. It doesn't seem as though there is much movement or stretch in that area. That said, the overall fitted look is a feature that I enjoy about this jacket, as it looks refined and not sloppy. I love the longer length of the jacket that hits mid-thigh and the arms are long enough for me, as well. The double function zipper is a must and a pleasant surprise I discovered. I can zip up the jacket all the way up, or I can release the zipper at the bottom of the jacket to allow for more room to walk. I have found that if I do not unzip the bottom part, it is a bit too tight to walk. This jacket is great for those cool, drizzly days we seem to have a lot in Florida. The hood protects against rain and although it does not have a drawstring, it stays up ok. The stitching seems to be done well and the zippers are an ergonomic design that allows you to grip well with your fingers. The wine color adds a nice contrast to my otherwise dull jacket collection. I have found myself making this jacket my go-to for casual wear.

Flattering, comfortable, and waterproof
For some reason the description of this item does not include that it's waterproof, but based on my experiments it definitely is. It has a slick, slightly rubbery exterior and a soft flannely interior; in other words, it's built like a light raincoat, not a fleece (which is appropriate given the description "softshell jacket"). It's cut in a very feminine way with princess seams that accentuate your curves, and it fits snugly to size. In other words, it really looks nice on. And the hood, while it doesn't have any drawstrings, does extend well over your face so it should be fairly protectant from rain. The one fault in this item is that there isn't that much arm movement because the fabric isn't stretchy and there aren't gussets under the arm. So I wouldn't use it for athletic pursuits. For that one flaw, I'm deducting a star, but overall, it's a nice, sleek piece for those cool, drizzly days.

Slender Fit
The Otterline Women's Regular-fit Full Front Zip Softshell Jacket is perfect for Fall, Mild Winters, and Cool Spring temperatures. I live in Oregon and this jacket is my go to nearly year round. I'm five foot two and half inches tall, 130lbs, and typically wear either a small or medium in outerwear. I got this coat in the small sizing and found it to fit me comfortably only being about an inch on the long side for the sleeves. The sleeves still work out for me since I can just cuff them back without show of the inner lining. For length this hits mid-thigh far enough above my knees to not get in the way of walking or sitting. There's enough give to wear thin to moderate thick tops beneath it but bulky sweatshirts would be too much. The features this jacket has are good. There's two outer zip up pockets, two inner open drop in pockets, a hanging loop, a hood to keep elements off your head, double zippers on the closure which allows for partial to full coverage. Note the hood has no adjusters so if it's windy out, it's not going to stay in place. The inner lining is very soft and comfortable against the skin. It offers enough warm paired with the outer part to keep chills at bay pretty well. It's weather-proof/water proof jacket so it's a great have if you live in a damp mildly wet climate. If it gets dirty you can wipe it clean with a cloth but if it needs a real wash, you can do that too as it can withstand a machine wash on gentle and low tumble dry.The only thing to take into considerate is that the fit is a slim one. I suggest sizing up if you are closer to another size or if you run more average in size and up. This coat I can see how some may say is on the stiffer side but it function pretty well otherwise. Recommended.
