Good fishing in the catskills
Well written and pretty detailed guide for fishing in the Catskill region and some surrounding areas also.

OK guidebook, but "Flyfisher's guide to New York" is better.
I really wanted to love this book, since it's dedicated to the Catskills. But I was ultimately disappointed. The level of information about many rivers is weak. He freely admits that he doesn't know the Schoharie well (the main river in my area). He spends as much time talking about himself and telling stories as he does giving information about the rivers. A much better book is "Flyfisher's guide to New York" which has better guides to Catskills rivers despite being about all of New York!

Top reference for Catskills fishing
Best book on Catskills fishing I’ve read; highly recommend for anglers. Enjoyable to read too!

Good book
I am planning a trip to the Catskills this summer (2017) and will have this book with me. I am already studying it, but realize I will need updated maps when I get there, for access points. The book has wonderful stories and anecdotes to go with the text. A good read even if you never plan to go.

Counterfeit book?
Appears to be a counterfeit book. The quality of the reprinted graphics, photos and print is poor. What a disappointment.

I love this book .. Jim knows fishing and the Catskills Secrets
The media could not be loaded. Phenomenal book. Since moving upstate, this book has been my fishing guidebook, from NYC's reservoirs to NY'S world reknown trout steams and little known tributaries..I love Jim's engaging writing. This is a powerful, condensed book on a magical place in fishing history. It's a book you'll refer to again and again.
