This has really help me to identify the birds in my back yard

I enjoy sitting on the front porch watching the birds that come to my feeder. I keep this book by the front door to look up new visitors.I really like the way this book is organized. Sometimes I know exactly what bird I'm looking at (a Cardinal, for example, is hard to mistake.) in that case I may skip directly to the how-to-attract-it section. My only real complaint is that the photos (deliberately) show the most distinctive and vivid examples of a species color and markings. I would prefer to see a more typical example. That's just my opinion.

The book has beautiful pictures and detailed information in regard to many birds. Explains what kinds of seed each bird likes and gives a detailed explanation of the birds traits.

I bought this book for my 95 year old mother who is in the top assistance level of a nursing home. One of her greatest pleasures is still watching the birds who come to the feeder outside her window. When I visited her recently and took her the book, we really enjoyed looking up the various birds that we saw in the feeder and for just a few moments, my Mom had some peace and joy and a brief journey back into the earlier parts of her life. This to me is worth all the gold in California!!

This is an ebook. I find it very useful in identifying birds I see at my suet feeder. And I really like just looking at the pictures and reading the descriptions.
