101 Meeting Starters: A Guide to Better Twelve Step Discussions

being a counselor for the past 13 years, I fully endorse this gem of a book. Really helpful in self-help groups to get a discussion going and "flowing". The author covers 101 aspects of recovery, so it is really exhaustive. Keeps the group focused on a topic, because people tend to drift "off topic" easily.I find it also helpful to use as a personal recovery devotional to keep oneself on track in recovery.* highly recommended *

Great book for starting conversations letalone meetings. Those who are in 12 stepmeeting can get in a rut, this would begreat to break up those meetings.As a member of Coda for 8 years we haveused topics once a month and this wouldfit just that need.Good luck to those working their stuff,keep coming back, it works and yourworth it.

This has been a lifesaver when I've chaired meetings and couldn't come up with a topic. Each time I've used the text it has generated excellent, solution-focused conversation.

101 Meeting Starters is a great resource for meetings. I bought this little gem about a year ago, and keep it at our meeting for me and others who get "thinker's block". It's not meant to replace the Big Book and other "approved" materials, but is really a super adjunct to those resources. Mel B. did a great job with this one, and I wish he'd put out another!

Wonderful for meetings

I was not all that thrilled with this. I was thrown into a GSR position after 6 months. My homegroup met 4 times a week and I needed something, this worked. After a year I found it very basic.

Great topics for discussion. Big Book based, but not AA approved literature.
