Very well built Holster BUT….
As always, Safariland Holsters are the very best in durability and quality. But this one in particular has a slight issue. The felt lining grips the slide firmly if your draw is canted to any degree. I believe that is how it was designed, for more retention if someone try's to grab it from the side while the hood is open. So if your draw is 90 degrees, straight up and down, it will come out without issue. But if your off to the left or right when drawing it wont come out due to the anti slip felt liner holding it in place.I imagine it would break in as time goes on but just know it will be hard, at first, to draw if your not pulling the firearm out at a perfect 90 degree angle. Also when you are reholstering, there is no click or “ALS”. The hood is the only thing that keeps the firearm locked in. I returned this holster. And i didn't need a hood for range use so i ordered the 6390 and 7390. We will see how they are when i receive them. Hopefully they don't have the grippy liner or at least have a different, less grippy liner.

Its' Safariland, of course it works.
I've had this holster for a few years now and couldn't be happier. It works well. Coupled with the SLS sentry switch it has fantastic retention. I prefer this holster over the SLS/ALS for the simple fact that the more you pull on the gun in the holster (with the hood closed) the more secure it becomes. After the fight for your gun, assuming you've done your part, all you need do is give it a firm push down into the holster again and then flip the hood down, draw, and go to work. This thing has been painted 4 different times and has held up well. Highly recommend it.

BUY A LEG STRAP!
If you buy this holster with a mid or low ride rig, buy a thigh strap, buy a thigh strap, buy a thigh strap. The active retention of the mid ride holster causes the holster to turn slightly outward if you have the retention tuned correctly witch will make the gun harder to pull out, as advertised. I have blisters on my hands from trying to draw this thing smoothly, I undid the bottom screw, slid some paracord in and tightened it back down, just so the muzzle of the holster would stay put on the draw and it made a big difference even on slightly off draws, the mid ride and low ride belt rigs ain't ment for this holster, you need a leg strap. Again, buy a thigh strap, buy a thigh strap, buy a thigh strap. Undo the bottom screw and feed it in, or buy a leg strap adapter.

May require slight remolding depending on the pistol
Got this to use with my M9A3 with a TLR1 as Safariland doesn't make a 6360 for that combo that I could find.Out of the box the holster wouldn't let the pistol go all the way in and would push the gun out of battery and interfere with the SLS locking mechanism. I ended up having to heat and remold the holster near very front of the slide to get it to fit properly. It did that with or without the light attached and the issue wasn't with the longer threaded barrel, so either the M9A3 has slightly different slide dimensions or this holster was molded in-correctly. Either way 10 minutes heating and test fitting got it to work, there is a couple spots where the finish is different from the heat but otherwise everything works as it's supposed to and the holster fits the gun good now.

The best
I got one “used” that is indistinguishable from a new one for just over $35 (thank you Amazon) but even at full price, this is a good holster. The suede-like lining protects your firearm finish if you care. It is easy and intuitive to use with minimal practice, retains the weapon well, and can be easily modified with safariland’s range of mounting options to suit your needs. Additionally security can be added with the “sentry” and hood if desired. I have owned two of the same model with the first being for a Glock 17 which I used on duty for over two years with it showing very little wear, even after some borderline abuse. This one which I purchased for my M&P is of exactly the same quality.

Great product for the price
Safariland holsters have been a go to for me since 2001. I have carried every handgun that I have used in my law enforcement career in one including those with and without lights. The attachment system and retention system is one of the best. Great quality and I know it works for me. Make sure you get the outer look you want when you order I have buddies who have ordered these but high gloss by not paying attention to the details.

Great holster
Just what I ordered, fit my g17 with tlr1 light perfectly! But on the reviews it stated, will take a shire fire x3oo weapon light. It will not! I have both and perfect my shire fire light! Because it will not work in this holster I used my tlr-1. I’m happy with the holster!

Great holster
I've had this holster for 2 1/2 years, this thing still operates like the day I bought it. Level III retention is a must have for any LEO. Rest assured this holster will last you many years to come. You can even put a Glock 23 or 27 in here with no problem. The low rise holster makes it convenient to have when your wearing a tactical vest. The mid or high rise holsters make it difficult to draw your weapon out while your vest is resting on the hood.My only complaint is that I didn't buy the model that supports a flashlight attachment. I don't need it for my job but it would have definitely been convenient to have.

Great holster, doesn't fit ALL 1911s
This is a really nice holster and all, but it doesn't fit my Springfield Armory Range Officer. Now the dimensions for the gun itself is perfect (SARO being a government size), but it wouldn't fit because the hood of the holster catches on to the factory rear sight. I'm assuming it will fit Novak sights and G.I. sights, but SARO uses LPA sights that extends further out than the other sights. So if you have rear sights like mine, just know that it doesn't fit perfectly, I might try to cut off/heat expand the hood to make it fit mine. I'm also giving a 4 star because technically I am at partially at blame for buying a holster that wasn't meant to fit my gun, item description for how different gunight fit for this holster is very vague on here and on the Safariland website as well. In fact, they show the holster with a Glock in it on the Safariland website. I just wish they had a side note warning about this issue I am having right now.An update on a review (4 to 3), I have more or less made it work for my pistol, but now I found out that the holster has a positive cant that you can't fix at all. In my very personal preference, I like no cant or negative cant and it just made the holster feel awkward for me. I guess I have to learn to use the positive cant but the fact that it doesn't give me any option is just cumbersome.
