For the professional Finish Carpenters, Hobbyists and Wood Workers
I have owned both the Porter Cable and Ridgid 23 gauge micro pin nailers prior to purchasing this Senco and I am seriously impressed in the level of quality present in this nailer. Being a Finish Carpenter, pin nailers are your best friend when it comes to preassembling bull nose corners and blind returns in baseboard, chair rail, crown molding and even the finer perimeter inlay pieces in regard to Wainscot or making fine jewelry boxes to name a few things. There is a lot you could do with a 23 gauge nailer and this one accepts up to 1 3/8" pins which is a bonus when you need more than 3/4" or 1" nails to join thicker material. It is a tad heavier compared to the other guns I have owned though that is nothing to complain about. There are more durable materials used to make this as compared to the aforementioned brands. The tool is also a couple of inches longer in comparison. It has no problem driving 1 3/8" nails flush/sub-flush in a variety of wood and manufactured wood products. It comes with a hard case and oil as well as an extra nose protector and a 3mm Hex key that stores neatly on the magazine so there is no need to scramble for a key in the event of a jam. With all that said I would gladly recommend this to anyone on the market for a high quality, well manufactured tool that will last for years to come.

I bought this pin-nailer for use on a fireplace surround ...
I bought this pin-nailer for use on a fireplace surround. It proved to be the ideal tool to use when installing small mouldings. Any other type of nailer would likely have spit them, something that never happened with the Senco. It even came in a black plastic case, something I wasn't expecting, since other reviewers had indicated it didn't come with a case. My only caution would be to be sure to order plenty of Senco headless pins when you order the gun. I haven't had any luck finding Senco 23-guage pins at any of my local retailers and have ended up using Porter-Cable 23-guage pins. These have worked well. Just be aware that Senco headless pins may be hard to find.

Lives Up To Hype
I saw this small nailer on a popular Youtube channel and decided to give it a go. I was skeptical at first that these small nails, with wood glue, would provide enough strength to hold my projects together. I have a tendency to over engineer and over build. So wood screws seemed absolutely necessary for most projects. (Or complicated & time consuming joinery) But so far these almost invisible nails that are crazy simple to shoot is plenty strong. With glue. It’s faster, easier, and requires fewer tools to make something. Clamps are not needed as much because the nails hold the two surfaces together. I’m still not 100% converted. Yesterday I used some wood screws and totally forgot nails could have done the job. (Smacks forehead...) It takes time to make a change like this. But I really recomend you give air nail guns like this one a chance with small to medium sized woodworking projects! With glue! 😆

Cost is worth the performance!
I have been in all phases of carpentry for over 40 years. Back in the day senco lead the marked in product durability, reliability and service. When we had a problem with a nail gun of any size they were there to help. This 23 ga pin nailer is worth every dime! It shows me Senco is still a step above the rest. I love the size, weight and the air discharge is awsome! Often you get a face full of air with other products but not the Senco. Also, absolutely love the trigger system. With the double trigger activated your hand you have total control in all positions. In our shop we are proud to use Senco nailers!

Won't set pin nails correctly.
Very dissapointed in this purchase. It's my first and only senco. I've had this for a year and a half and worked fine till the last 6 months. It won't set pin nails into the wood. Not even hardwoods, I'm talking 3/4" pin nails into MDF. Leaves them hanging half out about 1 out of every 3 shots. I replaced the driver and it worked well for a month then right back to not setting again. I oil daily as recommended. Not willing to replace the driver monthly.

This Senco will drive 5/16" and 3/8" pins as well...
This is quite a pinner that drives pins from 5/16 all the way to 1 3/8"...I know it's only advertised for 1/2" minimum but I swear it will drive 5/16" and 3/8" as well...The only quirk for the 5/16 and 3/8 is for the first pin only one must push the low staple override button...Once the first pin is driven it will function as normal for the rest of the strip...I also tried the Porter Cable PIN100 but it wouldn't drive 3/8", let alone the 5/16"...This Senco has the quality of decades past nailers...Solid feel, excellent balance and almost no recoil...It's a little expensive but the quality nailers like this Senco always are...For the DIY user this is a tool that will last a lifetime...I don't see how anyone wouldn't love this little jewel...kd
