A mediocre gaiwan
The gaiwan is ok. The porcelain is thinner than it needs to be, so it conducts too much heat to the hand, and is easily damaged. Porcelain is a mediocre material to make tea in. It’s only advantage is that you can do foolish things like steeping herbal infusions or green in it without affecting the taste of other teas. But why would you make green tea or herbal tea in a gaiwan? Purple and red clay gaiwans are easily available for making oolongs, pu’er, lapsang suchong, and other fine teas. They are usually thicker walled and easier to handle. They also soften water. This thing is ok, it looks good. but one can do much better.

Beautiful, well made and perfect
It's a beautiful gaiwan with a nice glaze, and easy to use for one person's worth of tea.
