Inspirational!
My idea of a good book is when I check it out of the library and enjoy it so much that I simply have to buy it. This one's so good, in fact, that I bought a copy to send to a friend who, like me, has been experiencing creative blocks. We both enjoy singing and playing music...so why aren't we making time for it? While Oriah Mountain Dreamer focuses primarily on the writing process--which isn't a surprise, since she's a writer and poet--the exercises at the end of each chapter are marvelous food for thought. Even if you just read the book cover to cover and skip the exercises, there's a lot of wisdom to absorb. She writes in an accessible, non-preachy style. As a result of reading this book, I realized that my reluctance to pick up my guitar stems from a fear of failure. My new goal is to overcome this with ongoing practice sessions. I don't have to create a masterpiece; I just need to be present and do the work on a regular basis. As with most life-changing activities, it's easier said than done! ;) Recommended for anyone struggling to implement a regular creative practice and/or to address any reluctance or fears associated with it. Her book "The Invitation" is another winner if you're questioning where you are in your life and seeking personal transformation.

A great read/workbook for dropping back into your creativity.
This is a great read/workbook for dropping back into your creativity in whatever medium you are working with. Not just writing. Oriah gives real life scenarios of how she struggled and then action steps of what to do to return to the creative spark within. A book to work through as you create!

Uriah Mountain Dreamer, What you Ache For, and how the book may help you!
Oriah Mountain Dreamer is an amazing lady, who reaches for humanity and wholeness of people. This book is about being creative and how to use your creativity towards finding not only success in what you do, but in who you are. I agree, her other books focus more on finding your center of authenticity and clearity of being....but that's not what this book is for; it's an updated example by someone who has used, like Natalie Goldberg, spirituality to find her space and able to teach from here, how to be creative.

I found this love treasure on a whim
I found this love treasure on a whim. I am a writer and I like reading books on the topic of creativity. Then it came with a bonus about the soul. Man was I in love with this book, I read it from front to back in a hurry. I would recommend this book to all the creative souls out in the world. It will make you think about things in a different way. I will be checking out more books by this author.

not what I expected or wanted
This may be a fine book and that is theonly reason I gave it four stars.it is wordy. Wordy, wordy, wordy.however, it is in my kindle so maybein the future I will feel patient enoughto read it.But this time I was expectinginspiration and simple encouragementand the title implied that for me.

Thank you for writing this book!
I just received the book and read it once. Now I'm re-reading it again with my yellow highlighter. I was stuck in not wanting to paint and this book is helping me get unstuck.
