Psychohistorical Analysis
An unusual, but very useful, addition to War1812, Como. Perry, and Lake Erie. This very readable treatise fills gaps in time (relevant events after 1813), geography (extensions from the Battle of Lake Erie), and analysis (the minds of key players). Of the last gap, because of the author's background, this is arguably the best treatment. Skates close to goring some sacred cows, but with solid research and justifiable rationale. The convoluted aftermath of the Battle partially explains why there are as many 'Perry' placenames in the US as there are 'Washington' placenames.

Perry's Fleet , After The Glory.
I selected the Perry book beiecause it discussed the aftermath of the battle, the individuals involved, and the locations andsites of the Battle of Lake Erie. The discussion of the final ending place of some of the ships involved was interesting. The bookalso included the Canadian/British aftermath of the Battle Of Lake Erie. The book arrived on time and in excellent condition. Charles

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and learning more about the history in my hometown. Dr. Frew has a way of making the reader feel part of the story.

Great Book!!
Awesome book, David Frews books are informative and well written. I had no idea of the significant and heroic acts that took place in Erie's history to secure our nations history. I have read a couple of Davids other nautical books and they are excellent. I would recommend. Kiss of the devil wind. The sinking of the steamship Gerkin and midnight herring: prohibition and rum running on Lake Erie

A great book if you are interested in America's history
Well written and informative; full of information that despite living in Erie all my life I didn't know about Perry and his fleet and the events that occurred after the "main" battle of Lake Erie. This book finishes the story of Perry's fleet and the main character from the battle. It gave me a much clearer picture of what Perry's victory meant and how it helped keep the U.S. independent. A great book if you are interested in America's history, or want to know the "rest of the story".
