Just what ineeded
So thrilled! It works! Had to buy a used dv camcorder to copy 58 mini Dv tapes to cd using my DVD player. There was no way to copy it using the usb chord and needed a both end 4 prong chord to hook camcorder into the dv port of DVD player. Worked perfectly after I realized I had to put my min dv tapes back in record made instead of the safety lock.

This is my first time ever trying a firewire. It fits but doesn't work (PlayMemories doesn't detect the Camera). Any solution?Tried it with: Sony Handycam DCR-TRV285EConnected to: Dell Vostro - Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit (the only PC with firewire port I have access to)

Intermittent operation. 60% failure rate. Cable won't detect video source, buzzing audio
Intermittent operation. 2 out of 5 video transferred successfully. 60% failure rate. Cable won't detect video source. Then when the video transfers I get a loud buzzing on the audio track.
