Mounting bracket threading is a problem
I love the lights! The lights themselves are fantastic. The only problem I had is that one of the mounting bracket's needs to be threaded correctly. It was all stripped out and it was no way to secure it to the stand. I would like to be able to get another mounting bracket to place this one but I having a problem finding the information to contact the seller. Came with two mounting brackets and one of them works perfectly Like some sales are beautiful and gorgeous and I am super happy with those. If someone could please get back to me regarding the mounting bracket problem that I have that would be awesome because I cannot use the slight until I can get it mounted on the stand

Very solid, very nice...
I work in the film and television industry. I am currently working on "Good Behavior" for TNT television and had these (4 of them) shipped to my office at Screen Gems Studios in Wilmington, NC. I feel I must state, before this review, that I ordered these lights for personal use and in no way is TNT endorsing this product. I am simply presenting my career info as a "qualifier" before I begin...The lights arrived quickly and were expertly packaged for shipping. Each light came in its own cardboard box with tight fitting styrofoam corners suspending the light inside that box. Then, each set of two light boxes was packed inside another box. And those two larger boxes were packed inside a larger box yet! You couldn't ask for a better packing job!The lights come pre-assembled with the barn doors intact, a power cord (grounded with 3rd round prong), a small plastic bag containing the light-stand adapter, a replacement fuse taped to the styrofoam corner (don't throw away!), and three magnetic-corner color temperature gels (frosted diffusion, tungsten, and daylight). The gel system is GENIUS as you can instantly change the color temperature by connecting the heavy plastic gel to the front of the light using the small button magnets on each corner of the gel.As I was showing these lights around to my fellow television coworkers and they were really impressed! In fact, several asked me for the direct link so that they can purchase a set as well. We turned off the lights in the locations department office an illuminated the room (about 20 x 20) pretty nicely with a single light. Later, I practically blinded a few people in the art department office because they stared directly at the LEDs for a moment. Now, please understand that a single light would NOT be sufficient for filming in rooms of these size, but it was pretty darned bright. I wish that ePhotoInc had posted a little more data on the total lumens of this light as I can only guess right now. However, it's quite bright.Strangely, there is no "branding" on these lights. No logos. No company name. No model number. No identifiers of ANY kind that I can see. It does make these lights a bit difficult to inventory if you need to do so. It also makes them hard to identify if stolen, etc... The lights don't come with any paper documentation, specifications, internal schematics, or instructions. Basically, you just need to know what your doing to use them. Also, I don't see a UL safety logo, wattage overload warning, or any other type of "official" sticker that you find on most new gear. Hmmmmm. In the film industry, the future of LED lighting is just now taking hold. One of the great things about LED lights is that they use very little electricity and generate very little heat. I have literally had actors and models pouring sweat (even nude ones) under hot studio lights! It can be miserable! With these, your room will stay nice and cool. Also, with older traditional light kits, once turned off, they remain burning hot for a long time. Also, if you move traditional lights too quickly after turning them off, the lamp's hot filament will sometimes break! Not a problem with these! So, my initial impression is that these are great for the money. They are quite bright but have their limitations in wide spaces or outdoors. They seem to be best for close filming or as additional fill light. These would be PERFECT for on camera interviews, documentary shoots, and short film projects. The dimmer pot allows for a nice range of varied light intensity. Only time will tell and if I have any LEDs burn out soon, I'll update this post.ePhotoInc - it would be nice to see a few accessories for these lights. Perhaps a honeycomb light grid that would attach to the magnetic corners!- Christopher

more famous and built better? Of course you can
Ok...here's the situation...you need LIGHT, but don't happen to be a millionaire. Can you spend LOTS of money on light kits/heads that are more powerful, more famous and built better? Of course you can! However, if you're a one man show or a non profit like a school or church who needs dependable light without breaking the bank...this is a DEAL! I originally purchased a pair of these for LESS than $225 for the pair...I liked them so much, I bought ANOTHER pair a couple of months later. I have a small green screened studio up in the second floor loft of my house for doing instructional internet videos. These work perfectly; lightweight, well made and versatile. You can vary the output and each unit comes with magnetic color covers (tungsten, daylight and diffusion). Nice carry handle and quality, enameled aluminum barndoors (not those cheesy foil-covered, cardboard barndoors you find on lots of brands much more expensive). No, you can't run them on battery power out in the field and they don't come with their own travel case, but once again, you're not popping $500-600 a head here, either. And don't expect to light a Porsche with only two of them. The output is really GREAT for what they are, but be reasonable in your expectations. I also like the fact that they are LED and run COOL. To summarize: powerful lights with quality build and nice accessories, ACpower only and not mini versions of the Sun. Lotta bang for your buck!

Beware
I bought 6 of these panels and had to return 4 because they were not the strength listed on the description. I kept two, because I figured they could be used as lower wattage fill lights . Now I wish I sent them all back because I pulled out the two to shoot an interview and one of the panels won't work. The "power on" button and light works but none of the 4 banks turn the LED rows on. I switched out the fuse and nothing. Of course now it's outside of the return window, so I'm just SOL on buying a bad product. Not to mention being caught in a bind on shoot day with a light panel not working.

If you have softbox lights and wondering if you should buy these?
If you're like me, you have been using softbox lights for years, and you're tired of your footage looking like a sitcom. You learned about lighting, or at least I hope you have, and now you need a new light kit.Should you buy these? The short answer... YES!!!They crush my old softbox lights in every way imaginable.Brighter, let me say that again, BRIGHTER than my old softboxes. So in the event you do want to shoot a sitcom and need to flood the room, these will do the job.You can mount them both vertically and horizontally. They are dimmable, with no noticeable flickering so far.I thought a few magnets on the filters were missing, but discovered they had simply stuck to a few other magnets.I love these lights, and I couldn't be happier with the purchase. Yes, it would be nice if I could use a battery with these, but at this price, not an issue.I was able to use my old cheap cowboy studio light stands with these and they did hold, but I wouldn't trust them above 4-5 ft high.I'm very happy with these lights, and I have a feeling if you have been shooting with old softbox lights like I was, you will be happy too.
