Dry out too quickly.
The idea of printing at home is why people got printers to begin with. They could do their own projects without having to go to an office, school, or store to do it and they'd have what they want. The accessibility was meant to be inexpensive and efficient. These color cartridges are efficient, but they are not inexpensive. Why is say this is because I don't print that often, and everytime I do have to print something, it seems like I'm always having to buy a new set of color cartridges because they dry out way too quickly. So now I've just washed away $75 for a few sheets of paper. To add to this, the Epson stylus 280 printer that these go in won't allow me to print in just black if one of the cartridges is empty and that's sssooooo. Very annoying. When they print, they're great. But when they've dried out, be ready to shell out bucks...

Arrived in good condition with a long shelf life date
Arrived in good condition with a long shelf life date, but theses cartridges do not seem to print the amount of prints the company advertises. They seem to run out very quickly. But I think all Epson cartridges do. I find they stop printing and force me to change the cartridge when the color seems fine. I feel that is a deliberate event Epson created in the cartridge or printer to force consumers to replace the cartridge before it is empty. My HP printer will continue to print until nothing prints or is so faded there is little color. It lets me choose when to change the cartridge. Epson printer does not allow the user to change the cartridge when we feel it is needed. It simply stops printing and forces me to change. When I change them, I can shake the "empty" cartridge and hear ink sloshing around. They are by no means empty when changed. Love the Epson prints. but feel cheated by their practice of programming their printers to stop printing so they can sell cartridges when there is ink still in them.

Epson ink cartridges
I have been ordering Epson refills at amazon.com and from various sellers on Ebay for quite some time now. There are two distinct outcomes that I have experienced from these refills. The first (and most common) is a refill which functions and gives print quality identical to the brand new product from Epson. The second is a situation I have encountered a number of times which tries the patience. A cartridge which arrives in an unsealed package that is "unrecognized" by my Epson RX595 printer, as well as in my husband's RX580 (which are almost identical). At this point, there is nothing that can be done other than throw away the cartridge or try to get a refund or replacement from the seller.I wish I could say that this happens only from Ebay sellers and not from amazon.com sellers (and I also sell on both) but I cannot identify the source for the ones that work vs. the ones that do not work. I must admit to not always checking the expiration date on these cartridges, so that could be the problem. I have recently seen some detailed instructions on suggested ways to overcome this situation but have been unable to locate it. So, although I have inadvertently contributed to this problem, the fact still remains that some of these genuine Epson cartridges simply will not work in my Epson printers.I want to stress that amazon.com will always stand behind the products they sell. Some Ebay sellers are willing to give a replacement or a refund, although it is difficult to get a response from others.

Great Ink
I have used this ink since I purchased the Epson Stylus Photo 580 All In One Inkjet Printer [...]. One draw back of this ink is that you HAVE to use this ink. It can be rather pricey but it does put out a great quality photo/document so there isn't any something-for-nothing issue. You can get the hi-def color ink or the regular but there is a difference in output and the price isn't that dramatically different to go ahead and spend on the better ink. It is kind of like putting low-end gas in a high priced car...you shouldn't. Now that you've got a very nice and semi-expensive printer, put the best ink in it. The inks do last a while and I haven't had one problem with them except maybe availability. I can't find the hi-def for this printer in many common stores like Wal-Mart or Target. That may be a deal breaker for some but just hit up the closest office supply store and they're sure to have them. And like I said, they last pretty long so you won't be venturing out that often. Lastly, choose the draft print option for a lot of text documents or things you don't want to use your nice ink on whenever you can. This ink and printer are really great for actually printing high quality photos so save it for something like that.

If your Ink packaging box has a yellow/green notice sticker on it IT WON'T WORK
Apparently, Epson has a supply issue with certain ink cartridges and seems to be using a different supplier."Due to a parts availability issue, printer messaging regarding expended ink cartridges has changed. This results in the printer generating an "Ink cartridges cannot be recognized" error message instead of a "Replace Cartridges" message." So it sounds like it's just the wrong message coming up and the new ink cartridge should work but it doesn't. It also didn't seal properly when installed into the printer and some ink leaked out. I paid for a genuine Epson ink cartridge and I received garbage. To me this is really bad since they constantly warn you about using remanufactured etc. cartridges, and what do they do. Totally unacceptable. I've been paying for and using genuine Epson cartridges for years, totally disappointed in Epson!!!

Always Pricey - Always Worth It
This review asked what rating I would give for sheerness and warmth. I am not certain what those terms refer to in the context of inks. If I were to guess what they mean, I would assume sheerness is a measure of the opacity. Inkjet printing doesn't deposit a thick layer of ink like screen printing. It is always somewhat translucent. For warmth, I've read reviews of inks that cast a tint. A tint can be cool ( into the blues ) or warm ( into the reds ). Genuine Epson inks have never been anything but nearly perfect when the printer and color profiles are properly calibrated. I can honestly say that the Epson Claria inks are probably among the best in the world, and when all colors are working properly, and the proper stock is used, the results are of art-print archival quality.

Expensive but great service!
The item arrived in one day. It fit my Epson printer perfectly. I hope it lasts a long time as it is very expensive. So far, so good. But not a month old yet!
