It's okay
It still needs another part for it. I purchased this for my son and was unhappy that he still needs another piece for it.

It's great hardware that is now unsupported
Unfortunately, the hardware is no longer usable because Jawbone acquired Bodymedia and refuses to make the activity manager software available. I joined the Facebook forums that claim to offer support but nobody could or would provide me the software. The various hacks to liberate the device from the now defunct subscription website will not function without the unobtainable activity manager software. Sorry Body Buggers! It's great hardware that is now unsupported. Boo Jawbone! 😣

Great little gadget
I purchased this used, hoping to see where my weight loss was failing. When you have used other apps for your weightloss on your Iphones etc, they estimate your calorie expenditure sometimes high.... sometimes too low. This tells you exactly how many calories you have burned. I love it. It was a little confusing at first because I use Google Chrome and the final step of downloading from the arm band to my computer, the java screen just sat there. I was very frustrated. I finally figured out it was in using Chrome is where the hang up was. Doesn't fully work with Chrome. Opened it in Explorer or Firefox runs great! It has helped my weight loss. Not too thrilled with the calorie consumtion part. Very hard to find foods. Foods are listed in grams. Not fun to d/l everything that I eat into it. And to use Apex's daily diet food guide...They just want you to eat and drink their food products...I'm not into those kind of supplements...Not for me. I want something I can use for the rest of my life. Making a lifestyle change. I still use lose it app to log my food consumption and then transfer it to bodybugg. This way I just have to watch the calorie count and not worry about the rest of the stuff. Works for me.

I am not a moron or a luddite.
I hate to give this a 2 star rating, but I've had it almost a week and still haven't been able to use it. Despite following the instructions, to-date I have been unable to get the device up and running. The "instructions" in the user guide aren't very helpful - what they say should be the next step is not. Perhaps in all fairness, I haven't called tech support yet becuase of some logistical issues on my end, though I get the impression that tech support is of little value. Hopefully this becomes less problematic and I can use it.

Fun little gadget...
I bought this for $50 from a friend who got it for a gift and never opened it. I'm really glad I only paid $50, because there are two things that really bother me, and why I would never pay full price.1: The subscription. I wouldn't mind this if their program didn't suck so bad. Ok, it's good for what I wanted it for, to track calories. BUT, this really should have come with something that you could just install on your computer (I don't have an iPhone or the watch to go with it) that you would not have to renew. It really bothers me that I will have to pay to use a device I already paid for that isn't a phone. Kind of stupid. I don't have to pay to use my iPod!2: Their program itself. The food counter is a joke. It looks like it was designed circa 1993 and should be ran on Windows 3.1. No excuse for such an expensive product to come with such a half-assed program. SparkPeople is MUCH better for tracking your calorie consumption, which I will continue to use. A ton of the food I eat, which really isn't that obscure, isn't even in their program, and it's not easy to edit your food. Stupid.Other than that, I like the fact that at the end of the day I can plug it in and see where I burned the most calories. Which is what I wanted it for, so I'm happy with that. Hopefully, I won't need it after 6 months, and I hope another company can capitalize on this technology and come out with a sleeker, no-pay program. This technology should be affordable and much more user friendly. I mean, I used to go to 24 Hour Fitness, so I know how they are, and I should have anticipated that it was going to be super gimmicky. In other words, there's a lot of room for improvement in the marketing and programming, but the product itself is neat.

Be Careful of Extra Charges
It's fun to count calories and see how exercise effects calories burned. It doesn't mean much if it doesn't count food intake which is the bigger problem. To really get value, foods eaten during the day need to be inputted. What the literature doesn't clearly state is that in order to see finite caloric intake. This requires logging into a web site that shows calories burned throughout the day. The site after six months costs $79.00 a year. It seems to me that this should a program that comes with the Body Bug.
