Seals up nice and tight with the included gasket
I bought this box intending to use it for something outdoors to keep a small-ish transformer out of the weather, and hopefully dry. I ended up not really needing the transformer where I originally thought I would, so I didn't use the box for that. I did keep it though, it didn't cost much, seems to be of decent sturdiness, and with the included gasket the lid appears to close nice and tight. To the point that I'm pretty confident it would keep out any water if it rained so long as any wires I put through the sides were sealed up properly. If it did leak that would be on me for not doing a good enough job or using the proper materials for sealing any holes I put in it for wires or cables. I'm sure the box as it was received is plenty water tight once the gasket is put in place before closing the lid. Once the gasket is in, the clasps snap closed good and snug holding the lid down firmly until you pull them open again. It doesn't seem like they'll hold the lid closed at first when the gasket isnt placed into position, they're loose and the lid can easily be flipped open again when moved the right way, but it's not a big deal. It only needs the elasticity of that gasket to add just enough resistance to closing the lid that the snaps then catch firmly when snapped shut. Hard to explain exactly how it works, but it just does. Without the gasket in place it might seem as though it's not working correctly and opens too easily, but it is only because it needs the gasket in place to work properly. Not much else to say, I haven't tried it, but I also have no reason to doubt it will keep things protected provided any new holes added for wiring, cables, and any other fasteners or hardware are sealed properly with some good silicone caulking or something similar. It's a good size for many of the types of projects I regularly work on, works as it should, and seems pretty sturdy. I would guess being plastic it may be brittle and prone to breakage in extreme cold, so that's something to consider as well depending on what it's used for. That has nothing to do with the product itself, just the way of things, so 5 stars and I'm sure I'll find a good use for it sooner than later. If nothing else, it's the perfect size to house a balun, unun, or other impedance matching apparatus for a wire ham radio antenna. It would actually be perfect for a portable wire dipole set up of some sort, just needs a toroid to wind the desired matching transformer, some good antenna wire, and whatever connections are preferable. I guess it turns out I can think of quite a bit to say about a simple water tight box made of durable plastic after all...

I use this outside my house for a plug for my Tesla
Very easy to Mount and high quality plastic you can't go wrong for the price It fit my plug perfectly to keep it dry The only bad thing I can say about this item is the little rubber gasket on the door doesn't want to stay so just maybe use a little glue and stick it in there so it will make this box completely waterproof other than that it was just what I needed to keep my Tesla extension cord from getting wet

Good little project box
Needed a project box, went with this one because I'll need to open/close it pretty frequently, and didn't want to remove screws every time I needed to open/close it. Plastic handled being drilled, making cutouts, etc very well. No chips or cracking. Walls are thick enough to feel sturdy, but still work well with panel-mount components. Nice tight seal when latched. Reason I'm giving only 4 stars is because the latches and hinges. They are serviceable, but could be better.

Exact fit for my Low Voltage processors/relays mounted outside.
Only CON: these are Non-NEMA boxes. Would NOT use for Mains/Line voltages. If they do not state ON THE BOX that they are NEMA compliant, they are NOT! For low voltages, they work very well, tight and do not leak in rain.

Excellent project box.
Great construction and excellent quality. Comes with wire seals for which you will have to drill some holes on the side. The quality is good and that's why it may take some time to get them to the right size. Has been through a few rains without any water intrusion (it is affixed to the outside wall). Comes with almost all the hardware you will need, just need the screws to affix to the wall. No complains here, good buy.

Low cost solution
It feels like it will be watertight. It is good value, but clearly lower quality than some (expensive) boxes I've bought in the past. I was able to install some brass insets into the raised circles on the inside base of the unit, so didn't have to penetrate the box to install spacers for a control board I was housing inside.I did install some (Bud) vents at the top, and found the box material easy to drill and clean cutting. The cover has to be fought with a bit to close it. That may get easier over time, but at the cost of the tight seal I think I currently have. Time will tell.Good value for an economy project!
