Princeton Aqua Elite Paintbrush, Size 10, Matte Black

Great watercolor brush!! Princeton’s Aqua Elite line outshines many expensive brushes. Great snap and the point is tight.

..a medium firmness. That's what I like most about this brush. It has excellent snap, comfortable well-weighted handle and the bristles are a medium firmness. If comparing to Princeton Neptune series ( which is really soft ) and the VelvetTouch series, I would say this is closer to the Velvettouch. It holds it's point perfectly but is harder to rinse than most brushes I have encountered. The belly isnt very large but still.. it performs well and will last a long time if taken care of properly. Most certainly a good purchase and nice addition to a watercolor arsenal.

This brush is a good buy. It holds together well and holds a lot b of paint.

The hairs split. Don't keep fine point

Haven't used it yet but it must be pretty sturdy. It would have to be since it was lovingly thrown in a large box with not even a plastic bag to protect it from other items.Edit - Much better than Neptune, not as good as Silver Black Velvet. I have a couple of the Neptune brushes. I don't dislike them, they have their place. However they are very soft which makes them more of a challenge to control. If you're doing loose work that can be fun. The Elite has more spring and just seems to have a nicer feel to it though. Control for detail is better even with a larger brush. The Silver Black Velvet have become too expensive however esp for a half synthetic brush. So I've been looking at the Princeton's for a replacement.

The last thing I need was another brush! But I read someone’s review of this number 10 somewhere and thought “ok, its a reasonable price to try out”. I’m so glad I did! It’s amazing. I did buy others to go with my 10 in the Aqua Elite! It holds a lot of water and paint, best sharp point ever which returns to a point, so comfortable to hold, just a beautiful, and my favorite, painting brush! 🙂

Excelente pincel para acuarelas. Mantiene la punta, retiene mucha agua y la suelta uniformemente. Tamaño excelente para uso general.
