Good Read on a plane to a Golf Tournament
This is a 3/8-inch thick (5.5w x 8h-inch) paperback with 1/8-inch tall (large) print easy to read with 71 y.o. eyes on plane to Palm Springs golf tournament. It was entertaining light reading offering insight into golf architecture design philosophies of MacKenzie, Colt, & Tillinghast in early 1900's. Some archaic terms included -- Wikipedia time -- and humorous antidotes abound. Fits easily into smaller shoulder case with Airline tickets and other emergency-lost-baggage-items.

Delightful Dip into Desgn
I really enjoyed this quick and easy to read compilation of excerpts from three master designers. Not only did it give me much more insight into what goes into good course design, it also changed my views about how to enjoy the game even more while playing.

Thoughts from an early golfing era
For those interested in the beginnings of the construction of the great golf courses we enjoy into the 21st Century this is an insight to the thoughts of the golfing architects of that era. Whilst modern science and machinery have developed to evolve those courses to the present day, it is fascinating to understand how the golfing architect worked with the developer to create their dream. Many of the fundamental principles apply to this day.
