Savio SUV026A 26 Watt Univex UV Clarifier

I'm amazed how well this worked. I have a 1000 gallon koi pond which looked great until I had some sort of algae explosion. Over the course of a couple weeks the water became green and cloudy. The fish seemed happy, but what's the point of having nice koi if you can't see them the second they go more then a foot deep.I installed the light, which unfortunately required cutting the power cable between the light and the transformer and extending it about 15 feet (the transformer is really quite large and there is no way I could have gotten it through the 3" piping that I use to bring power cables to the pond pumps). The Savio pond pumping/filtering system I own is designed to hold 2 UV lights. Since I opted for only 1 I blocked up the waterway for the 2nd light, forcing all the water to pass by the 1st light.I run 2 pumps, a large one included in the original Savio setup that pumps to a waterfall that comes on several times a day, and a second small one that I added the runs 24/7 pushing filtered water to the bottom of the pond. Because of this the water passes by the UV light 24/7, but varies in speed depending on whether both pumps are running or just the small one. The water cleared noticeably within 3 days, and was almost perfectly clear within a week allowing me to once again see the bottom of my 4 foot deep pond.For the price I paid It would have been nice for the manufacturer to include several more feet of cabling and perhaps some sort of weather proof housing with mounting holes for the transformer. The transformer gets hot and doesn't look particularly well suited for the outdoors. I didn't want it sitting on the ground outside where it could get wet, or incased in something that wouldn't allow the heat to dissipate. I ended up mounting it to the wall beside an outdoor power outlet. Unfortunately there wasn't a simple way to do this, and seeing as my solution involved some trash bags, some electrical tape, and a couple small pieces of wood you can imagine it didn't look great.Overall I'm very happy with the product as the results were excellent. I've owned this UV light for about a year now and it's still functioning great.

This Savio UV light is incredible. My old one was a Savio also, but this new design is a working miracle for clarifying the water in my pond. It took several days, but my koi are the happiest they have ever been; and my pond is more beautiful than ever in all the years I've had it! I recommend this Savio very highly. It's definitely worth the cost. The chemicals I was told to try were costing a fortune. The decision to get a new Savio was brilliant.

After an intense winter and without a Savio Univex UV clarifier light working, my pond was not attractive at all. For example, it was completely filled with algae and we couldn't see nor appreciate the fish. There are many positive aspects and benefits from using the Savio Univex UV clarifier and purchasing it through Amazon, (1)Through Amazon, we found the Savio clarifier light to cost $88.00 less than what local Pet Shop and other websites were charging. (2)The Savio arrived earlier than expected, (3)it was easy to install and, (4)the result on my pond were amazing. In less than a week the water was crystal clear. In addition, the three fish which were in the pond multiplied and now there are around 80 fish.All we can say is that we are satisfied with this product and doing business with you. I was shocked by how quickly this item clarified my pond. My new pond had a sudden algae bloom and in 1 week it went from fairly clear to PEA SOUP> I couldn't see fish that werent skimming the surface. I installed this clarifier in my Savio skimmer filter and in one week I could see the fish on the bottom. In two weeks, the water was CRYSTAL CLEAR. My pond is around 3500 gallons and one 26W was enough to keep it clear. Mind your filters though. Clean the dead algae out as required and water will stay clear.

Price is a little bit high for what you're getting but it fixed my problem.

Works well and cleared the algae in 1 week. It doesn't work for string algae, which has to be pulled by hand.

I had to return this item because it was not compatible with my other equipment. I have a Savio 18w UV Clarifier which is excellent.
