Great read!
Loved it! This is the story of mage who thinks she’s fighting evil, but then finds out she’s been lied to, and she’s actually been acting on the side of evil. So what does she do? She walks away, destroying most of that evil organization, and hopes to make a normal life for herself. Unfortunately, trouble follows her…..Erin is a great character. Well drawn, realistic in her angst over her history. Mature in her acceptance that while it was terrible, it ultimately wasn’t her fault. She wasn’t evil, even if her past actions were show to be so, in that amazing 20/20 past vision.Supporting characters are great too - unique, some good, some jerks, all real. You can so easily envision yourself in this story, and loving the great friends Erin finds at Rosie’s.Definitely looking forward to the next book!

A Good YA Novel
I found this story to be a pretty good YA novel. I really liked the protagonist and was interested in how the story would work out. I particularly liked seeing Erin negotiate between her old life and the new life she is trying to build. However, at times I found myself questioning the believability of a scene. I enjoyed the book well enough to read the next book.

Lots of magic
This book had lots of magic and lots of action. There are some very interesting characters who move the story along quickly. The main character, Erin, is interesting and you want to see her survive and pull her life together. With all the people who seem to be after her she has quite a challenge simply to survive, much less thrive. But her new friends help her in ways that make the story more I interesting. The book is well written and edited with few to no errors in the writing. It flows well and the near constant action keep the story moving so that it is hard to put it down.If you like reading pretty much anything in the paranormal genre you'll like this book. It contains vampires, shifters witches, mages, and the fae. And it works. It's not a jumble of characters. They work well to keep the story interesting as it moves quickly from start to finish.

A Refreshing Surprise
I started this book with an open mind and was hooked by the end of the first chapter. The characters are engaging and the action keeps the momentum of the storyline going. Good Read.

Enjoyable urban fantasy
A bit of romantic triangulation in this one, no explicit scenes. The characters are well developed, there's a bit of info dumping early on to get readers up to speed, but somehow you have to figure out what's going on so it was acceptable. I received my copy in a giveaway and enjoyed this one enough that I'll invest in the followup books in the series. Lots of action/adventure. Strong heroine. Elements of politics (fae) and intrigue.

Ummmm...
I really am finding it hard to review this book. I found myself confused and just skipped the review here and read the second book. The world building is strange to me. Its supposed to be based in our modern times within an "american" society but yet it doesn't feel like that. Its not in a bad way though. I actually like the twist on the supernatural and paranormal world. Its new and interesting. But its also a little confusing. Its like there is no actual in depth explanation of the main females powers and exactly what the extent of her powers are. But I think that could be due to how the story flows. There is no flow and I think that is the main issue I have with this series. The story is choppy. It goes from 1 scene to the next. In a hard manner. Its not smooth. Kind of like talking to a robot who just lists facts. But the story and plot are intriguing enough to keep me interested. The main female has an intriguing story and is a bad ass. I love that. Shes not a weak woman but due to her upbringing you can see where she is naive with certain things in life but yet old and wise with others. She is quirky, snarky, and has a sense of humor. She's also loyal to a fault. I cant remember being given an adequate description of what she looks like besides having black hair. That made it kind of hard to relate to her in a way but also opened doors to relate more to her personal characteristics. Maybe that's what the author was aiming for? 1 thing that stuck out to me though is we are told that she was raised by this all powerful illuminati. She is half witch and they trained her to be the best assassin they had due to her powers. Trained her from everything of how to kill in anyway to the art of seduction but yet she was never trained on how to use her witch abilities. Thats not believable. The author slipped on that. Plus that type of lifestyle where survival is first and foremost would make a person strive to master all aspects of anything that could help her survive but yet her learning about her witch side from the witches in her new life is barely touched upon. Unbelievable especially when she knows this illuminati will hunt her down. The romance is just not there. So if your looking for a romance this is not the book series for you unless your patient. I just finished book 2 and she barely even dates. But I don't need romance to like the supernatural even though its always a plus. *wink wink* All in all I will continue the series because I want to know how Erin's story ends and because its interesting. I can get past the lack of flow and the little discrepancies of what I believe an assassin and survivor would think like. After all I'm immersing myself in BR Kingsolver's fantacy world as a guest and I strongly believe and support the differences in how all of us think. In our individuality. Different is good. So if you like the supernatural, a bad ass female with a strong moral code, action, and something a little different give this series a try. Book 2 was better than book 1 IMO. Im heading to book 3 now.

I like Erin
I starts of a bit absurd, but gets better with every page. So, yes, I will read the rest of the series. So many unexplained things to solve. Thanks.

Noioso
Sono sinceramente stupita dei commenti positivi su questo libro. È piatto....un esercizio di scrittura ma privo di emozioni, lho trovato veramente noioso.

Well worth reading!
Interesting story line, the characters are showing some depth, and the heroine of the story is strong enough to be worthy of the title, but flawed enough to be believable without being silly. If paranormal crime fighting is your thing, then don’t go past the Rosie O’Gradys series.
