A beautiful jewellery box with the motif of the amusing princess group by Johann Gottfried Schadow. For many years the Potsdam artist Alex Agwanjan, lovingly hand-crafted, has produced a wide range of sculptures, reliefs and cans from the materials cellane or plaster. Particularly important is the clean presentation of the finest details, which is possible thanks to the material cellane. Cellane is a synthetic, inorganic moulding compound that has a porcelain-like structure when hardened. The material is easy to work with like plaster, can be painted or dyed before use and requires no drying or burning for curing. Cellane is about twice as hard as plaster and also significantly heavier. The use of cellane allows a very high image accuracy and the finest detail representations. The material has a bright, porcelain-like sound after hardening when knocking. Unlike the slightly grey plaster, cellane is pure white. All objects made of cellan are lovingly patinated and polished by the artist.
