Love 'em but take care...they can break easily
I really love my Bodum Canteen glasses, and I highly recommend them. However A FEW TIPS ON CARE AND USE SO AVOID BREAKING THEM. #1 Never use a metal spoon to stir; and #2 Don't drop ice cubes into the glass (For larger size versions set the cubes gently inside). If you do that then you are good to go. Before getting with the program I broke 2 glasses doing each of those things. Seriously, just simple stirring with a metal spoon, and dropping an ice cube from the rim broke glasses. I have a stainless steel sink, so I've never broken one in the sink while washing. But I would be very careful if you have a porcelain cast iron sink, because I'll bet they could break easily if tipped over, or bumped the side in that type of sink. That being said, the glasses are amazing. They keep hot liquids hot and comfortable to handle. And they keep cold beverages cold without sweating. These 'Canteen' style glasses have become my basic glasses. Especially the 'D.O.F. Double Old Fashion size, and the larger (I think they think of them as a beer size) which are great for espresso drinks and cocktails, etc. Although, there are no young kids in my household, so you may want to consider that to avoid breakage. Probably not great glasses for young kids. Cheers.

Great Espresso Glass
These are the best glass to serve Espresso in. I ordered a pair along with a pair of the larger Cappuccino Glasses and then reordered both cause I loved them as did my family and friends. They are beautiful to look at, insulated so easy to hold and keep the Espresso hot. They are delicate so need to be handled/cleaned very carefully. They are not inexpensive but if you are an Espresso fan they are well worth the investment.

One of the most fragile products you will love
My wife and I have ordered many Bodum double walled glasses over the decades in various sizes and forms. The are beautiful and they do work to retain heat of hot beverages and keep cold beverages colder longer. They have a valve system to keep the insulated pocket of air stable. We use them in the microwave and put them into the dishwasher. We don't stir them vigorously or toss ice into them with abandon because that will create microfractures that can leak. In fact, many of the leaks come this way rather than from valve failure--yes, I did the experiment to verify this. If you drop them, you will not be able to count the pieces or even find some of them. Plan to order a few more now and then. Maybe 2-4 every 5 years. We have had better success over the years, so maybe the design has evolved.

Great glasses. Read the literature!
These are great little glasses.Yes, they have that little rubber plug on the bottom, but if you read the literature it's part of the design. It lets cold and hot air in and out as necessary to balance the pressure between the glass layers and keeps it from fogging up and possibly breaking. Makes perfect sense to me.I have run these through the dishwasher a few times and no problems. We are careful AS THE INSTRUCTIONS SAY to not cram them tight between stuff in the dishwasher. That little rubber plug thing probably keeps the pressure perfect so the glasses survive just fine. The instructions DO NOT tell you NOT to put them in the dishwasher.I use these for espresso but may also use them for small freezer cold alcoholic beverages in the future. They would be perfect for both. Keeps the cold cold and the hot hot.

The perfect container for your Espresso
These double walled cups from Bodum are the perfect serving containers for espresso. The are lightweight and the double wall structure will keep your drink hot. Plus, they are very stylish (I think). Despite the fragile appearance, these are pretty sturdy.

Use Shot Glasses Daily
I roast my own coffee beans and make my own Americanos daily. These shot glasses are perfect for the job. They double wall allows them to be cool to the touch on the outside while keeping my coffee hot for consumption.

Fragile` but nice
Pros: look great, keep your hand cool and espresso hotCons: volume is bit small for me for a double espresso because my shots are usually 100% crema initially. They are so amazingly fragile. The glass is incredibly thin (believe me, I have seen the glass edges on end while sweeping up the shards) This glass will shatter into a million pieces if it is knocked over on a solid surface countertop. What I mean is that you don't have to drop it, just it tipping over empty made one break. I had this set (now gone) and then a 6 oz set and there is just one of the bigger ones left. I am now shopping for something other than these glasses which are insulated and shatterproof.

Bodum Canteen 3 0z:
Bodum Canteen Double Wall Espresso/Shot Glass, Set of 2VSBodum Pavina 2.5-Ounce Double-Wall Thermo GlassesI have had the Pavina for 4 years with no problems, until I accidentally dropped a kitchen shear into the glass with point down; yes it did break but my fault.I looked for other double wall glasses and found the Bodum Canteen. I received the set and they seem to be of a sturdier build and a bit more easy to handle. The Pavina weighs 59g and the Canteen weighs 83g and the Canteen appears to be made of thicker glass which would account for the increased weight even considering its larger capacity.

Pleasing and functional espresso cups - lovely!
I bought these with a voucher I was given as I do like an espresso! I've been using standard espresso cups for a few years but always found the coffee cooled down fairly quickly, so thought I'd give these a go.They do actually keep the coffee warmer for longer, I'd say around 10 mins, rather than the 2-3 mins in my standard cups, and are a pleasure to use - very lightweight, and can be cleaned in a dishwasher too.I'd read the reviews of a range of double-wall cups and chose these (despite being more expensive) as they have a small valve at the base (don't mistake it for a sticker or try to remove it!) that allows the air in the insulation gap to expand and equalise pressure with the air outside, rather than create a pressure differential that could potentially crack the cup if there are any defects or scratches. The valve doesn't allow water in, and I've had no issues washing these in a dishwasher - some of the other alternative brands have small holes in instead of a valve, so water can leak in during washing.I am very pleased with these, and am considering purchasing other larger ones for americano-style coffees too!

Bonitas y elegantes
Bonitas y elegantes. Sin problemas por el momento aunque parecen algo frágiles. No son para café porque son bastante grandes. Más bien para infusiones.
