Wordy and Inaccurate
I had to buy this book as text for a college course on Pop Culture, which is scary considering how ridiculously inaccurate, biased, and wordy it is. For instance, a timeline of rap music has Body Count's single Cop Killer as being released in 1982. This is way off! Ice-T wasn't even signed to a major label (Sire) until 1987, and Body Count didn't come out until 1992, the same year as the L.A. riots (I remember it well because I was actually *there*.)The Clash were not "violent and brutal" as much as they were straightforward and educated and not afraid to tell about life as it really was in post-industrial England. Black Sabbath is not "Satanic Rock" (listen to War Pigs, you idiot, it's an anti-war song!), and Kiss did not feature a "kitty-cat" or a "sex-crazed kabuki doll"....LOL!!! Honestly, these descriptions and definitions are laughable. This guy has no business trying to educate anyone.
