If like me you are running a campaign focused on Waterdeep, these are near enough a must-have. Pair these maps with a DM who knows this city inside-out and you've got one of the most immersive urban campaign props available.Whether you're playing Dragon Heist, another WotC adventure, or your own homemade content set in Waterdeep, you'll find these maps add much to the tabletop experience. No matter if it's locating Piegierons's Palace at the West end of Waterdeep Way, or tracking a chaotic chase through the Dock Ward, this map helps frame your action and make Waterdeep feel like a real place that you can explore.In this package, which comes in a protective plastic poster-tube, you'll receive a set of large, high quality Ward maps that list most street names, the locations of The Walking Statues, as well as some open-air locations around the city.The detail, style, and legibility of the maps is wonderful, showing individual buildings and streets, and having (as far as I can tell) all of the 5e canon buildings represented, if not labelled. If you've played 5e modules before, the art style will be instantly familiar.No scale is included, and they seem very close but not 100% exact in relative scale of each map. Nonetheless, they are large and accurate enough to lay out the entire city with quite a lot of overlap as in my pictures. Using non-scientific methods, I've decided that 30cm is close enough to a mile when taking scale into account.The physical area taken up by the maps altogether takes up most of a 6x3ft table, while individual sizes vary from barely bigger than A4, to A2-ish sizes.The material is a waxy cloth or paper-like material which seems quite resilient and easily lies flat, but will show creases if you fold them. Some other users suggest the use of dry-erase pens. I tested his in the border area of a map with Staedler Lumocolor whiteboard pens and found that it left a darkened patch after removal.
