Solid installation kit
Metro’s a solid company when it comes to installation products. Well worth the money.

Be careful...
It worked well. Be sure to double and triple check before the full install. The unused tabs are meant to be broken off and there are lots of them. Once you break them off, there is no fix for it. The product itself made for seamless integration into dashboard of my car and looks as though I had it done by a professional.

Directions are junk
I followed the directions exactly as shown in the diagram. Well it did not work. So I emailed the company and their response was you must use common sense when installing them. They also said I need to purchase another and take it to an authorized metra dealer. They REFUSED to warranty it even after I sent pictures of their directions highlited with a highliter showing them it will not work as described. So best thing to do is toss the directions in the burn pile because they have no idea what they are talking about.

Works so far, but not as well as expected.
Bought this for a 96 Buick Lesabre. The plactic pieces on the side (the mounting brackets) snap off to make it fit your specific vehicle, the instructions were not very clear as far as which ones to snap off for my specific automobile, but i did eventually figure it out, i had to call a mechanic friend to figure it out, and he told me that you will typically snap off all but 1 tab on each side regardless of your vehicle. The instructions did seem clearer for other models.Unfortunately, the plastic pieces that were supposed to stay snapped off have started to stress and it seems like they will be coming off of their own accord soon. This is due to the fact that the tray on the bottom (my install was for a single din unit) is too deep and doesn't give enough room for wires from the back of the stereo to sit slightly underneath the unit causing pressure on the mounting brackets, as its just too full. This gives me a choice between having a giant hole under my stereo, or having the kit not fit quite right, the pressure is more localized to the right side causing the stereo unit to stick out slightly more on the right than the left, and it also causes it to skew slightly on the vertical axis. However the kit has not actually broken yet, and im working on making a faceplate to cover the hole where the tray currently is so i can remove it and have my stereo fit properly. Although, i did really want a tray, its a shame they made this ones too deep for some automobiles.

Had to drill, but it looks nice now
I am pretty sure that I can't blame this Metra kit for my Chevy Silverado - I only bought it after deciding that a super cheap LED radio with bluetooth connection was what my 2006 needed. I went for the "Naifay Double Din Car Stereo Compatible with Apple Carplay and Android Auto, 7 inch HD Touchscreen," and I'm going to bet that the Naifay was why I needed to drill holes on the side plates of the Metra for the radio to sit flush. I had to drill all four (two per side) holes. One hole on each side that ran into the already-there mounting slots, and one hole each side that was about 3 to 4 mm away from the slot.

Good product overall. Need some skill to install.
This kit works well. Just be aware that it takes some skill to install the kit. It is a bit time consuming to trim all the unused tabs off the sides of the kit, and if you want it clean, you’ll need to file or grind off the tab remnants. Pay close attention to the tabs needed for your application, if you trim the wrong ones, you’re not putting them back on. All in all, a decent product for the money.

Good value. Worked well
Fit perfect on my 03 Tahoe. Instructions are a little all over the place but it’s pretty straight forward.

Does the Job, Best to Find an Exact Vehicle Fit if you Can
I purchased this Install Kit to install a Double DIN Android head Unit into my 2003 Chevrolet Avalanche LT Z71. The install kit has break-off tabs to form-fit it for each individual vehicle. The instructions were a bit confusing to follow and I ended up breaking off a tab that I needed to keep. I was able to make it work using the stereo bracket, but this kit is very easy to break the wrong area off. Also, if you do not use the correct size of pliers, you will likely crack the mounting bracket. After that fiasco, the install was fairly simple and it fits decently well. Would highly recommend trying to find an install kit that is specifically made for your vehicle as they will be tailored to fit a bit better. Otherwise the installation was fairly easy and the finish looks quite nice.

Works for '06 Impala, NOT for '06 Grand Prix
Not wide enough for the opening on a Grand Prix. Sunfire and Grand Am are slightly more narrow.
