Iconic book providing an overview of Italian Baroque art; covers art, sculpture and architecture. This first volume (of three) covers the early Baroque i.e. the early seventeenth century. A sound introduction, somewhat academic in its presentation and perhaps a little outdated or old-fashioned in style and content. But an essential read for those interested in this period.
